Yummylicious Dry BKT! Smile Jun 18, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

Who does't like Bak Kut Teh here?! If you don't then you must visit this shop, maybe you'll change your mind tongue

Anyways, I'm a frequent visitor to this shop for its dry version of BKT. Don't get me wrong, the wet version tastes good as well; very flavourful soup. But the dry version here is more unique compared to the soup based BKT.

*thumbs up*

I always requested for lean meat and no intestines or whatsoever. Dried chilies that were added in definitely gave this dish an extra "oomph" besides the saltiness due to the black soy sauce.

One can always order side dishes/add ons such as the tau fu pok and vegetables. Vegetables were fresh and topped with fried onions, but sometimes tasted too salty due to its sauce. Overall, it's always good to have some veges when you have such a meaty meal.

Forgot to mention that this restaurant offers fragrant rice aka oil rice for the customers besides plain rice.

Visit this place if you haven't smile

i-Pork Smile Jun 17, 2012

Hungry hog is no stranger to people who live around Subang as it serves cheap and decent porky Western food. Being a pork lover, I found myself visiting this restaurant a week later after knowing its existence lol Small but cozy restaurant with minimal deco makes one feel comfortable at home...

It's called the i-pork! Very unique taste I shall say. The patty was juicy enough, topped with the special apple cinnamon sauce with crunchy apple mayo, its combination was perfect to make my day. Apple cinnamon sauce tasted slightly sour but it was still ok to me. Refreshing!

Homemade mashed potato. This one had bits of potato skin in it, perhaps it's a way to indicate real potatoes were used when most restaurants use instant mashed potatoes. Onion gravy was tasty but didn't manage to put fireworks in my mouth though. Taste was quite mild to me hence I prefer it to be more flavourful.

Fried dumpling Smile Jun 17, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

If you're at this restaurant, you should look for a stall which sells noodles including noodles with dumplings (水饺面)! Sister told me I could order the fried dumplings only as well. 6 pieces per plate with a price less than RM5!

Good food indeed. I enjoyed eating the dumpling with the chili provided. The dumplings may looked huge here but don't worry, I'm sure you can finish them all by yourself. Fried dumpling looked bigger than steamed dumplings because they are fried and expanded. Filling inside consist of minced pork and garlic chives.

Now here comes the important part, one must eat the dumplings with the chili! The chili is special and I've never come across its taste anywhere else. It tastes a little sourish and slightly spicy only, and the sourness in the chili definitely made me crave for more! This plate of dumpling is the perfect appetizer for me.

Pop Egg Milk Tea! Smile Jun 17, 2012

If you asked me which brand of bubble milk tea I prefer, my choice would be Gong Cha > Ochado > Chatime.

Similar to the other 2 brands, one can choose their toppings and ice/sugar level of their order. Pop egg milk tea is my favourite drink in Ochado! lol

Instead of black pearls, pop egg milk tea comes with... *drumroll* pop egg of course! The pearls which contain sweetened coffee liquid will literally pop inside your mouth when consumed. Coffee with milk tea, great combination! Coffee liquid is not bitter at all hence I like to "drink" my coffee this way tongue

Whatcha waiting for? Pop the egg today!

Japanese pasta Smile Jun 11, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta

Mushrooms and chicken can never go wrong together. Pasta Zanmai 's Toriniku to Kinoko no Cream Sauce (Chicken & Japanese Mushroom Cream Sauce Pasta) is one good example. Since this is a Japanese restaurant, Japanese mushrooms are of course added in. Chicken cutlets are fried perfectly that they complicated well with the pasta and mushrooms. The sauce was just nice and not too creamy too. Only problem? Too big portion for me to finish it alone sad
