Bad experience Cry Jul 03, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Café | Ice Cream / Froyo / Gelato

It's been a long long time since I last had desserts after meals.

Decided to pay a visit to My Honeymoon because I was craving for glutinous rice balls.

Well, the shop looked quiet because most people have gone to Snowflake.

Anyways, bf ordered the sesame cream + soy bean curd (hot). The sesame cream isn't thick enough as of those sold by vendors in van but is sweet enough not to have any more sugar syrup added into the dessert. Bean curd is good as it is smooth.

As I mentioned, I was craving for glutinous rice balls so naturally, I ordered the Six Happiness Sweet Ball. There are 6 different types of flavours each: sesame, peanut, custard, chocolate, green tea and taro.

1. Peanut
2. Custard
3. Taro
4. Green Tea
5. Sesame
6. Chocolate.

It turns out that the sesame glutinous rice ball is the best among all. The filling in taro and green tea has turned sourish and these balls are definitely spoilt but unfortunately I've taken a small bite each. I did complain to the staff but no further actions are taken sad Aside from this, the ginger soup is hot and sweet enough to be eaten with the glutinous rice balls.

Terrible Nasi Lemak Cry Jul 01, 2012
Categories : Malay | Restaurant | Noodles | Nasi Lemak

Mamak shops will not be on the top of my restaurant-to-dine-in list but I had no choice to have my late dinner at this shop one night.

Again, me being me, I ordered the nasi lemak biasa because I don’t fancy having some very oily meal at such late hour.

Priced at RM2.50, this nasi lemak is such a disappointment to me. Yes the rice is fragrant enough and there is also an egg given (I prefer fried egg though), but the anchovies and peanuts are hard not crispy at all. Most importantly, the highlight of my meal – sambal is served cold and tasted weird. I’ve eaten at other mamak shops and most of the times the nasi lemak is fairly good.

Nasi lemak is like the most basic order on a menu that should at least be prepared very good and delicious but this one at Padang Kota failed to meet my requirements.

After I had my first cup of Share Tea which is the Mango Green Tea with Sweet Cream, I went back again to purchase a different type of tea. I ordered the Classic Pearl Milk Tea (Green Tea) as recommended by one of the staffs in the outlet.

This time, my order has no sweet or salty cream but only pure tea. To me the taste of this milk tea is very mild and there isn’t any surprise in this drink sad The only part that is worth praising is probably the presence of green tea that makes the drink to be “fresh” and “tasty” along with the pearls included. This will certainly not be on my order list in my future visits to Share Tea.

Overpriced meal Cry Jun 17, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

I've heard of this restaurant from my friend so I decided it's time for me to try it out.

Stopped by after work one day to tapau my dinner and I chose chicken and siu yuk rice.

I was very shocked when the bill was presented to me shocked RM8.80 for a meal consists of chicken and siu yuk.

Looked ordinary and tasted ordinary to me as well. I thought if I paid such price for it they would be at least better but no, I was wrong. The chicken was ok, but the sui yuk could be crispier. Not to mention that the sauce given to me was rather salty. Honestly I could buy this at any hawker stalls with lower price but perhaps this restaurant is more "classy" hence the price is higher as well.

Will I ever go back? You know the answer.

New York In PJ Cry Jun 09, 2012

Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Steaks / Chops | Seafood

If you're a frequent visitor to OU, this outlet will definitely catch your attention. Painted with white at almost each corner, it's hard not to spot this place aight?

So... New York New York Deli claims to be an Authentic New York Indulgence that offers a wide variety of food, ranging from all-day breakfasts to burgers, pastas, pizzas, crepes and the likes.

Brats (Beef Bratwurst Sausages) Wrapped In Bacon and Cheese. Fries were soggy and the sausages were slightly too dry.

Smokey cheese ball. I was extremely disappointed with this one. They looked really delicious but the inner part was bad. They didn't taste anything like the Mac & Cheese from TGIF, in fact I thought I was eating some fried potato balls.

Smoked salmon salad; more salad than salmon. Acceptable but not worth ordering the next time.

Overall I think that the quality here has become worse compared to a few years ago sad
