Lan Je Smile Aug 11, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood

Lan Je has the most popular steamed fish ever and the branches are expanding around Klang Valley these few years. Famed for Steamed Tilapia Fish, I went there with mates to try it out.

The fish is really very fresh, and I am surprised because it is difficult to find such fresh fish in town. The toppings give a combination of sweet and spicy taste while the soy sauce at the bottom is light and not overly salty. Overall, it has very fresh sweetness with flaky meat. Delicious!

Dragon Gate Dim Sum Smile Aug 11, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Dim sum

Located very near to Sunway Giza, this place is full of eateries. But Dragon Gate Dim Sum appears to be one of the leading dim sum house there. I find the varieties here are very extensive, using their authentic Hong Kong style in cooking dim sum.

The most special thing I have ever encountered in a dim sum shop is this:

The Spinach Chee Cheong Fun with Shrimp @ RM4.50

This is very unique and I love the very smooth skin with aroma from vegetables. It is slightly sweet, with lightly salty soy sauce. Their belacan for the chee cheong fun is quite sweet though I expected it to be a little more spicy for my liking. Reasonably priced and the prawns are very fresh!

Naab Business & Dining Centre Smile Aug 09, 2012

Naab Business & Dining Centre at Solaris Mont Kiara has a smaller outlet as compare to the one in KL. It does not serve buffet, but I am very satisfied with the ala carte meal here. Although the menu is not so extensive as compared to other iranian cuisine, I find that the food quality is really good.

The naan here is very thick but with soft texture, best dipped with hummus which is slightly sourish and salty in taste. The staple food of Iranian is just healthy and filling for me.

The meal is never complete without Iranian tea. The red tea is slightly sweet, but I added more sugar in it according to my preference of sweetness. Very light and aromatic.

The Social Smile Aug 09, 2012

The Social serves all kinds of wine, beer and also light bites like sandwiches, salads as well as local cuisine. It is very well-diversified. And I order a plate of sandwich which costs me around RM20++.

The sandwich is served with chips and sweet mustard sauce, which completes the healthy combination. I love the fresh salad which complements well with the cold sandwich. The bread is crunchy on the outside and soft inside, quite fresh. For the meat, it is well-seasoned and the taste of saltiness is just right for me. I will come back for their pasta and burger next round.

Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant Smile Aug 09, 2012

Categories : Korean | Restaurant | BBQ | Group/Family dining

I have been to the outlet of Uncle Jang Korean Restaurant at Bandar Puteri, which is noisier than this outlet at Solaris Mont Kiara. I love the tranquility here, with not much crowd during a weekday dinner.

The sizzling hot pan is used to cook my favourite mixture of vegetables and meat. A large amount of kimchi paste is added into it, to enhance the sour and spicy flavours into the dish. I love to have such hot dish with cold Korean rice too.
