Fine Dining at La Risata  Smile Jun 18, 2012

The interior of their flagship restaurant in Ampang features a double-storey sky-light courtyard with a beautiful antique chandelier being the center piece of the restaurant.
Very relaxing and classy indeed.

Homemade Bread with Tapenade

Complimentary before meal, they serve us fluffy bread with a dip of finely chopped olives and capers. This rich olive spread is perfect when you're in the mood for a taste of the Mediterranean. Well made with good ingredients, it is wonderful with a salty lushness.

Ravioli Di Pesce @ RM27

This is the first remarkable dish I've uncovered during the meal. It is a house specialty of freshly made salmon ravioli in a creamy salmon sauce. The sauce is complementing the ravioli so well! It's definitely a must-try!

Each sheet of fresh pasta is filled with a savory chunk of salmon with pepper. Considering this as an impressive masterpiece, I have no complaints at all with the specially made sauce which is rich in salmon taste. Very cheesy and slightly salty but I love it!

Sawasde Thai @ Subang Jaya Smile Jun 17, 2012

While on the look-out for some satisfying Thai dishes, I found this Sawasde Thai Restaurant in Subang Jaya looks inviting from its entrance. Look at the attap roof; It gives a really Thai feel there. Stepping into the warm, friendly atmosphere that Sawasde offers, I feel more than pleased to enjoy my meal there. It is suitable for almost any occasion, be it a celebration, casual gathering, family dinner or co-workers meeting.

Sawasde Special Fish @ RM40

This is one of the best-selling dish at Sawasde. The Ikan Siakap here is deep-fried before being immersed in Thai-styled soup. Made of blended belacan, dried chillies and lemongrass, the soupbase is a must-try even for non-spicy eaters! The fish is very fresh with flaky flesh. The best thing is that you can always request the kitchen for a milder or stronger taste, entirely up to your preference!

Steamed Lala in Thai Style @ RM25

The clams are freshly flown from Phillipines daily, and I'm glad to sample all the fresh ones without any mud taste. The soup is clear but rich in this seafood flavour, with a hint of sweetness behind the mild taste.

Kafe Indulge @ Kuchai Lama Smile Jun 16, 2012

Indulge Cafe is considered an isolated cafe around the busy food corner at Kuchai Lama. It serves western delights and is a good place to chat and drink. Not many people actually realise that there is this cafe that serves Mille Crepe as good as those from Malacca!

Mocha Mille Crepe @ RM 7.90

Every layer of mocha cream is thin and soft. Layers of crepe, cream and mascarpone, so light and fluffy, it bounces off the fork when cut. In your mouth it melts into a soft texture which the tongue translates as very agreeable taste. The mocha flavour is quite light, a little bitter with the sweet cream. Very delicious and satisfying.

Known for their oh-so-famous Crispy Pork Knuckle, Grumps restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine with a touch of German influence. Located at Plaza Kelana Jaya, the restaurant gives its customers a choice to dine inside while enjoying the cosy air-conditioned ambiance or go alfresco dining by the lake.

Cream of Wild Mushroom @ RM10

The bacon bits make the whole broth become so flavourful! The crispy croutons add credits to the cream as well. Being neither too creamy nor powdery, I highly recommend this as a perfect starter!

Pollo Diavola (Devil's Chicken) @ RM22

This piece of grilled chicken thigh with garlic, chilli and rosemary sauce is served with salad and mash potato. The intense amount of rosemary sauce awakens the palate to something a bit special and devilish.

Apart from the crucial flavour and heat which come from the black pepper and rosemary sauce, the brined chicken is moist, pleasantly fragrant, and well-seasoned. This well-rounded, intense, yet sophisticated flavoured chicken really delights me!

Sitting on the expansive veranda at Senja, I get the feeling of almost floating on water. The al fresco dining here is top notch. Surrounded by a lake bordering the golf course of the Saujana Hotel, Senja’s newly refurbished interior perfectly suits its flourishing surroundings. Excellent ambiance!

Starter of the meal: Pan-seared Tuna or Smoked Salmon

The salmon tastes fresh as if I'm dining in a Japanese restaurant. The spoon of salmon slices is topped with my fave fish roes, but it's a little too salty to my preference.

Chicken Breast with Mushroom Cream Sauce

Initially I've mistaken this as a dish of chicken slices baked with cheese. To my surprise, the mushroom cream tastes good with the meat although cheese is not added here. The creamy, thick sauce covers the tender chicken slices, so healthy and filling!

Vegetarian Lasagna

This baked Italian dish consisting of flat pasta and layered with vegetables, cheese, and tomato sauce. I am not a vegetarian, but I enjoy the cheesy flavours in it. So rich in tomato sauce, and not overly sour in taste.
