Xiang Fu Xiang Cheng Hunan Chinese Restaurant is a great place for some hot, spicy foodstuff. Here it reads "乡府湘城", reflecting the delectable cuisine of 湘菜 ("Xiang Cai"), or more commonly known as Hunan-Szechuan Cuisine.

Fragrant Spicy BBQ Prawns (香辣串烧虾) @ RM25

Well, I would name this as Prawn Satay as the prawns are barbecued until aromatic on the satay sticks. This dish doesn't need further explanation from me, as you can see the abundance of fiery red chillis with the red chilli oil. The spiciness is very well-absorbed into the flesh of the prawns; it's surely good to warm you up. But it is quite oily for me, just the aroma and spiciness keep me asking for more of the prawns!

I love the very cosy ambiance in this outlet at Mont Kiara, although the parking spaces are difficult to find at times.

Si Yau Wong Fried Noodles (鼓油皇炒面) @ RM16

Chinese always prefer rice or noodle to accompany the main dishes, so here we go with this stir-fried noodles with seafood. Soy sauce can be way too salty, but not in Canton Fare. The springy noodles retain the crunchiness despite of being ssoaked into the sauce for a good 20 minutes!

Toh Yuen Chinese Restaurant Klang Executive Club is a very classy place, with a classic oriental setting. Besides the famous Peking duck, Toh Yuen serves many other Cantonese specialties. Recommended for family gatherings and special occasions.

Red Bean Pan Cake (红豆窝饼)

For dessert, I tried the authentic Woh Beang, which is so good that it becomes the highlight of the evening. The pan cake is quite delicate with a layer of red bean paste in between the crispy flour layers. Lightly sweetened, the layers give a strong aroma with sesame topping. Just a perfect end-note for the evening before we sip on some cooling herbal tea.

Canton Fare is a medium-range Chinese restaurant serving all kinds of cantonese cuisine with Hong Kong style. It is very suitable for family dining, as they serve dishes according to your preference of taste.

Iced Black Fungus (冰鎮雲耳) @ RM16

To sample the true taste of Hong Kong dish, here's the way to go. Dip the cold black fungus into thick Hu Ma Jiang (胡麻酱) gravy, then I'm delighted with a mouth-watering, balanced concoction of tastes--- Sweet, salty, sour and spicy with a hint of wasabi! How special the homemade sauce is; Definitely a must-try!

Kissaten Pork Burger Smile Jul 31, 2012

Kissaten is a Japanese fusion restaurant, and this outlet at Jaya One has many regular customers during lunch hours. I love the Japanese food here, but this time I went to try some western delight.

I have a huge Kissaten Pork Burger, and the thickness of the meat is simply too much for me. It is very filling with thick layers of cheese, vegetables and homemade salty sweet sauce. I love the scent of the sauce with the crunchy meat. The juicy pork is full of flavours, and best complemented with fluffy buns. Overall, it is quite salty but finished with sweet hints.
