Fruit Sticks at Mid Valley OK Jun 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Stall / Warung

When I was shopping, sometimes I want a little snack to carry along. And coincidentally I pass by Fruit Sticks, and then grab some of my favourite snack.

I'm surprised that they sell brown sugar candy as well. It comes in two flavours, I opted for the less sweet one. However, still the candy is so sweet with slight sourness and I love the gummy texture of it. A favourite among kids too!

Pearl Milk Tea at Cup Bon  OK Jun 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Taiwanese | Stall / Warung | Juices / Bubble Tea / Tea / Yogurt

Cup bon is just another place similar to Chatime, Gong Cha, Ding Tea and Ochado. However, they serve savoury food as well, such as thick toast in strawberry and blueberry flavours.

I order the most basic drink- Pearl Milk Tea, without adding any sugar. It turns out quite bland in that, and the pearl is too soft for me despite of the chilled drink which is suppose to harden the pearls. It is just so-so, and I personally prefer other tea brands than this.

UFO Taiwanese Dessert OK Jun 13, 2012

UFO Desserts & Drinks is another cafe serving Taiwanese bubble milk tea and grass jelly desserts with the legendary taro balls.

The presentation is similar to Snowflakes, using dark colored bowl for the icy dessert. However, the grass jelly here is erved in huge chunks, and I think they expect customers to bite it at one go.

The taro ball, on the other hand, is quite tiny and stiff. I hope it can be more chewy in the texture. Overall, the taste is good but the texture does not complement the dessert well.

Korean Food at Han Woo Ri OK Jun 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Korean | Restaurant | Seafood

Han Woo Ri is a Korean BBQ restaurant with a contemporary setting and delicious food.

Upon arrival, we are served with various kinds of side dishes. 6 of us are quite surprised that the side dishes served here are more than 15 choices! It is also bottomless, and I find the kimchi here very rich in flavour yet not too pungent for me.

It is a little more sour than others I have tried.

My favourite egg comes in thick slices, and I love dipping it into the soy sauce for some sweet and salty taste.

We ordered a plate of BBQ pork, and the waiter does the cooking right in front of us. It is a bit smoky, but still bearable. Overall, the pork is well-marinated and not overly salty in taste. Thumbs up!

Western Delight at Star Village OK Jun 13, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops

Star Village is a popular restaurant serving western cuisine at affordable price. Located at the corner lot in Kuchai Lama, it is a two-storey lot with myriads of lights at night.

I had this chicken chop with ham. It is generously served with potato wedges and salad. The sauce is a very thick mushroom sauce, which goes well with the tender meat. However, the overall taste is a tad salty, and the chicken is quite oily despite of being grilled.

This chicken chop with rice and corn, however, is served separately from the sauce. Quite good to have the chicken with some chilli sauce to reduce the salty taste. The corn rice is quite fragrant while the black pepper sauce is mild. This is very filling for a big eater.
