Claypot Chicken Rice @ Setapak OK Jun 15, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

The KK Kopitiam here has many kinds of hawker food, but I am tempted by the aroma of the salted fish and preserved sausage from this Claypot Chicken Rice stall. So I decided to give it a try.

It comes in a moderate portion, with generous amount of salted fish. This makes the rice really salty, and I have to put the salted fish aside to reduce the saltiness. However, the rice is quite sticky and aromatic, with not much burnt rice at the bottom of the claypot.

The chicken is fluffy but almost tasteless but in a good way. It complements well with the rice which is so rich in flavours. Delicious.

Star Village, OUG OK Jun 14, 2012
Categories : Western variety | Restaurant | Pizza/Pasta | Steaks / Chops | Seafood

Star Village at OUG has been operated for quite some time ago, so I find the furniture and ambiance not as beautiful as before already. However, the food is still good, comes with affordable price tag.

I order the grilled lamb chop which appears to be nicely done. It comes with fries and vegetables, but the portion looks moderate only. However, the black pepper sauce on the lamb tickles my tastebud with a good ratio of salty and spicy flavour. I think mint sauce would be better, but the lamb is already good by itself. Not bad in overall.

Categories : Malaysian variety | Restaurant | Bak Kut Teh

I heard that Wing Hiong Bah Kut Teh is one of the best Bah Kut Teh in Klang, but in Sri Petaling seems like it is very slow to gain its popularity. I don't see much crowd in there most of the time. Besides the steaming pot of Bah Kut Teh, Steam Lala is highly recommended by the chef, so we give it a try. Steamed into perfection with chopped ginger and wine, the soup is very aromatic and light. I'm glad that they use fresh lala here, and it is definitely better than the house specialty bak kut teh.

V1 is a conceptual restaurant, with the fiery red Ferrari car at their main entrance. The main concept of the restaurant is each man's favourite wife, the brilliant red Ferrari sports car. This restaurant uses iPad as part of their ordering system.

House Specialty Burger @ RM 22.00

The portion of the burger is huge, so my advice is, finish the burger before eating the fries. But the patty is quite soft and overly minced. I hardly feel the texture here, nevertheless the BBQ sauce is very thick and flavourful. It perfects the burger!

Classic Hotdog @ RM 8.00

It looks more like coney hotdog to me and quite aromatic when served hot. It tastes quite bland without the mayonnaise. And my next best alternative is to keep dipping every bite into chilli sauce to add more flavour.

Located at one of the busiest streets in Cheras, you can easily find this outlet at the corner of a row of shop beside Cheras Leisure Mall. This Italian restaurant appears to be less spacious but suitable for a decent family dining.

Lasagne Con Pollo (Chicken Lasagna) @ RM 15.90

This dish is quite common--- Homemade Italian layered pasta in tomatoes and minced chicken baked in bechamel sauce. Again, the portion is insufficient even for one person. But the cheese is alot here, with very good aroma. The minced chicken is quite stiff though.

Cannellono Di Carne O Di Pollo (Meat Sticks Lasagna) @ RM 18.00

This lasagna is a plate of homemade Italian rolled lasagna skin stuffed with minced chicken or beef baked in cream cheese. Soft and fluffy, it is just right in saltiness. It tastes good with the soft lasagna skin but the portion served is a little too small even for a petite eater like me!
