I am not familiar with this area, and all my friends and I want is a quick yet filling lunch during a tiring working day. I ordered a plate of Spicy Chili Fish rice, and it is only RM6. The big bowl of rice is good for moderate to big eaters, so I will have to pass some to my friends because I can't take so big portion.

The fish is actually pieces of deep-fried fillet and then being drizzled with dark spicy sauce. I find that the fish is very soft inside, with minimal bones. I like the sauce which appears slightly salty and not too spicy for me. Good deal for people around the neighbourhood.

A 10 minutes drive to this place for a decent western breakfast is just a good start of the day. Nothing much about the ambiance here, but it is packed with loyal customers from the neighbourhood.The western platter comes in quite a huge portion. The bread is nicely toasted, but a little salty with too much butter spread on it. While the scrambled egg is good, I find the hash brown very crispy on the outside and soft inside. The sausage is larger than the usual ones, and I have a very filling breakfast here.

Everything is of minimal oil, so I find it much healthier than many western corner out there.

Red Bean Ice Combo @ RM 6.50

Based with red bean ice, this bowl of dessert is topped with Taro Balls, Pearls, Barleys and Lotus Seeds. The Taro Balls are exceptionally huge as compared to its close competitors'. Along with the chewy yummy taste, I definitely love it! Jiu Fen Taro Ball Crushed Ice (九份芋圆刨冰) @ RM 6.50

Another signature dessert from BlackBalls. Consisting of similar ingredients, the ice shaves are added with extra creamer for a better sweetened taste. I find it tastes creamier and richer, blended well with other condiments. Red Bean Crushed Ice with Milk (红豆牛奶冰) @ RM 6.50

If you love natural taste of sweetness, red beans would be the perfect choice with its added texture onto the bowl of dessert. It tastes similar to the previous one, so it should be better with more milk so that the milky sweetness can be revealed.

Overall, BlackBall is good with some room of improvements in its sweetness level.

The stall serves mostly chinese desserts from the traditional red bean paste to chilling cold desserts. The white fungus dessert can be served hot or chilled. Not very sweet; Just suit my taste perfectly. If you prefer a sweeter version, you can always ask the seller to add more sugar syrup for you. For this ginseng chinese dessert, it is quite strong in ginseng flavourings than the natural ingredients. Quite sweet for me, and I prefer to have it chilled during hot days.

It is opened around JUSCO shopping mall, succeeding the closing of Food & Tea Hong Kong Cafe. Shanghai Style Rice with Roasted Honey Spare Ribs @ RM 10.90

It is stated as "Bestseller" in the menu, but the overall taste is so-so only. It is quite salty of the ribs, but the rice is too bland in taste. When mixed together, the portion of ribs is quite small and not so fragrant.Noodles Soup with Taiwanese Pork Meatballs @ RM 9.90

A "Bestseller" too; And this is great along with its hot and spicy taste. I find that there is a lot of noodles in it but only meatballs per bowl. The spiciness is quite mild here, rather too oily for me.Left: Jasmine Honeydew Tea ; Right: Honey Peach Green Tea.

The jasmine honeydew tea is too bland, whereas the latter one is way too sweet to suit my taste.

Another downside is the limited choices of foodstuff here.
