Hai Peng Seafood OK Jun 09, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Seafood | Noodles

I heard from my father that this Chinese seafood restaurant along the Old Klang Road has operated since many years ago, but recently the business is deteriorating with so many eateries growing nearby this area.

We waited for more than half an hour for the first dish to be served, still acceptable for me but not many can tolerate with this.

The Pork ribs are perfectly done. The sauce is nice with hints of mayonnaise and thousand island. It is sweet and sour and the skin of the rib is very crispy with inner juicy meat!

We order some dessert- Ice Kacang during the evening. And the portion is rather acceptable, but the sweetener here is a tad too much as I find it slightly sweeter for my personal taste.

Dim Sum at Asatei OK Jun 09, 2012
Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Buffet | Seafood

It was a sunny Saturday when we wanted to have a small gathering at this dim sum restaurant along the most happening street at Sri Petaling.

The first thing for breakfast is the steamed glutinous rice with chicken in lotus leaf. The rice is quite sticky and very rich in chicken flavours. And the meat is fluffy enough to satisfy me.

Next, the bowl of warm congee is very smooth in texture, and a little salty in taste. I like the thick porridge when added with pepper.

As for the Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun with Prawn Fillings, the portion is really small and the sauce is too light. It has only 4 pieces in a plate. It's not sufficient for us, but ordering another plate is pricey. Anyway the place is quite cosy, and suitable to enjoy the meal slowly.

Sweet potato and sago dessert OK Jun 09, 2012
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Desserts

Along the night market, I find many stalls of different types of food. After finishing my bowl of assam laksa of another stall, I then get myself a big bowl of sweet potato and sago dessert to chill my stomach.

The bowl of dessert is quite huge in portion, with many potato chunks. However, the sago is too soft, and not chewy at all. The dessert is quite sweet, or maybe I have low tolerance towards sugar level. During my next visit, I think I want to try other icy desserts.

Dine at Toilet Bowl OK Jun 09, 2012
Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Noodles

The restaurant is very conceptual, mainly of toilet bowl, poo and toiletries. It sounds a bit disgusting but yet I find many people crowding out at this restaurant.
The Colorful Menu

The Colorful Menu

The menu is very colorful, with wide range of local and international cuisines.

This is my claypot chicken rice. Surprisingly, it does not come with any toilet element in its presentation. The taste is just so-so, not too rich to savour my palate.

Next, we have a tasty pink bowl of noodles. The portion is quite small, as the bowl is shallow and filled with more sauce than noodles.

This looks like poo, but the chocolate ice cream is quite soft and rich in chocolate flavour. Serve it when cold, because it melts away.

The food court offers many varieties, but I see much crowd ordering from this chicken rice stall, so I get some to sample too. The claypot chicken here is very aromatic I can say, from far I can smell its goodness.

It comes in a huge portion, and they are generous with the amount of preserved sausages in the pot. The chicken is delicious, succulent enough with slight saltiness from the sauce.

When mixed together, the rice is quite sticky and oil which I don't really like. But overall, the meat is good and it is a great portion for sharing.
