Gyoza Cry Jul 29, 2012   (Related Review)

Besides ramen, Marutama Ramen also serves some small side dishes. like grilled pork belley, white carrots, japanese omelette etc.

Gyoza @ RM10.00
We ordered this gyoza for sharing. There are 6 pieces and 2 of us having hard time to finish it. Topped with parsley and some spring onions, the gyoza is not fried at all but just steamed cooked. The skin is smooth and not thick. Inside is stuff with minced pork and chinese chives. It comes with some chili oil soy sauce. I was nearly choked with the chilli oil. The taste is just average because it has a weird taste in it that i hardly explain.

Tofu with Abalone sauce @ RM18.00
The waiter claimed that the tofu is their in-house made tofu and best goes with the abalone sauce. It really look very simple and small portion on its presentation. The taste is really as simple too. Disappointed with the abalone sauce that only taste salty till the max. At last we pour away the abalone sauce aside and eat the tofu itself. Tofu is smooth inside and the outer layer is quite crispy on top but spoil by the abalone sauce that cause it to be salty too.

Claypot Tofu Cry Jul 23, 2012   (Related Review)

Claypot tofu @ RM17.00
This is recommended by the waitress when you wanted a tofu dish. So we expected something nice. But when the food served, it really tasted so-so only. I can't differentiate it's japanese tofu or local ones. It actually look bit yellowish but doesn't taste like japanese tofu. Surprisingly, lots of ingredients inside. There are sliced fish cake, shell-less prawns, lots of green veggie that taste average. The gravy is really thick with a scramble egg in it but tasted very mild. Good for my friend's baby to mix the gravy with rice.

Dessert @ Sweet Bean Cry Jul 20, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Restaurant | Desserts | Porridge

The cute name of 糖黐豆 (sweet bean) signboard caught my attention each time i pass by SS2 for the past week. 糖黐豆 is a cantonese word which describe 2 person whom are very close and always get along together. The restaurant is cooling but bit too noisy when crowded.

Beancurd Sheet with Barley (蛋花腐竹薏米) - This is cooked with the dried fu zhuk that boiled until its melted back to soy juice. Added with barley and egg to enhance the taste. However the taste is too watery becomes diluted, not much fu zhuk taste but only sweetness.

Black Glutinous Rice (鸳鸯紫米露) - It looks like red bean soup instead of black glutinous rice because is so watery and reddish in color. They actually added most red bean in it and totally changed the taste. Further the black glutinous rice is like still raw and not soft enough. Worst than home cook.

Yong Chow Fried Rice Cry Jul 16, 2012   (Related Review)

Categories : Western variety | Café | Sweets/Snack

The cafe is decorated quite stylish with cozy ambiance. Feel very comfortable lying on the sofas with many cushions.

Yong Chow Fried Rice topped with sunny egg. The egg is perfectly fried with the egg yolk melting out when i poke it. The rice is fried with egg too and many green peas. I personally hate green peas, therefore having hard time to pick each of the peas out. The rice is quite tasteless, may be giving some tomato or soy sauce may help to enhance the taste.
