Fried kueh teow OK Sep 28, 2013

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Seldom go to kopitiam to eat nowadays due to the super hot weather. Kwai Sang kopitiam is extremely packed especially during lunch hour. Manage to get a table with friends that day and i ordered the fried kueh teow. Served in a reasonable portion with 2 huge prawns. The kueh teow is nicely fried just a little too salty. I found fish paste cake inside too. The clams abit overcooked but overall was nice.

Burger patty with Potato wedges @ RM18.90
Choice of beef or chicken patty. Is nicely grilled and topped with fresh tomato gravy. The burger is very juicy and tender, especially the crispy part outside is delicious. The potato wedges is freshly fried till golden, very crispy outter layer and inside is real fresh potato. Yummilicious!! The side salad and coleslaw is a bit blend as they don't have special dressing. You can only add the japanese vinegar or sesame sauce provided.

Curry Rice with Fish @ RM19.90
This available only during set lunch for Monday to Wednesday. You can pick the curry spiciness from mild 1 to 5 or more. I pick the no. 2 as i can't take too spicy. The aroma is very strong and the curry taste is very flavourful and delicious. The fish is crispy like a layer of bread crumb outside and juicy inside. The Japanese rice is very fat and round mixed with the curry gravy is excellent.

Mixed Salad with Tuna & Egg @ RM13.90
The set lunch come with a toast bread and choice of mushroom soup or ice tea.
I din't expect is such a big bowl full of fresh lettuce, slice coleslaw, generous of sweet corns, tuna and egg. Sides are cherry tomatoes, cucumber. The tuna is very flavourful and mixed is all over, don't even need to add any dressing. Nevertheless, there are olive oil, japanese vinegar, sesame sauce for the dressing at your preference. Not to forget the toast is very crispy, tasty with the melted butter on it.

My friend tried this restaurant many years ago and she always feel like coming back but forgotten which restaurant is it. One day we came here to look around and finally found the wanted restaurant. They serve full course meal here from soup, mains, drinks and desserts. Drinks have a choices of coffee, tea, or daily her tea. They serve very old school brewed coffee. Comes with sugar and milk we add at our own preference. The desserts have choices of daily fruits, ice cream or home made jelly.
