Tsukimi Soba  Smile Jun 30, 2013

Tsukimi Soba @ RM7.80
I like to dine in at Hokkaido sushi as here is not so crowded compared to sushi zanmai. The waiters here are eager to serve you too.
I tried the hot soup noodle once and i love it so much. This tsukimi soba comes with seaweed, japanese spring onion, shiitake mushroom and a poached egg. I usually will poke the egg to let the egg yolk flow out mixing with the soup. The soba itself is tasteless but eating together with the soup makes it perfect. The soup base taste so sweet like seafood and add on with the aroma of poach egg makes the noodle so delicious.

Herbal Tea Smile Jun 29, 2013

Recently the haze is surrounding the whole Malaysia. For the past 2 days i was hardly getting fresh air and feeling so heaty. Luckily the situation is much better after the rain. Today i went to Koong Woh Tong for herbal tea. Prevent myself from falling sick because of the haze. Besides the herbal jelly (guai leng gou) they also sell herbal tea of ''wong lou kat'' and ''ng fah cha''. This is the ng fah cha, some sort of herbal flower tea. Great to cool down our heaty body. It's not bitter as they already added sugar.

I think this is the only non-spicy food on their set lunch meal. They serve dory fish, it was fried thoroughly before frying with ginger and spring onion. I think they marinated too much as the skin is too salty. It's actually flavourful but really too much of salt. I keep eating with rice also doesn't help. At last i peel off the skin and just eat the fish meat inside. By the way the onions are sweet.

There are 3 sections in the restaurant with different tables and chairs. There is a bigger area of functions and also sofa area to enjoy the coffee and tea. They serve set lunch here during lunch time. The lunch meal comes with a drink and a bowl of tom yam soup.
I can feel the spiciness just by looking at the food. It's fried with onions, chili padi and curry leaves. The taste is really burning hot. I really can't take it and pass it to my dad to finish it. The beef is a little rough too.

The restaurant is quiet and cozy with many decorations at the side. The walls are full of their dishes photos with big frames. I feel very hungry seeing all those delicious photos.
The tom yam sotong comes with lots of onions, and pineapple too. The sauce is very sourish and little spicy that makes me keep eating with the white rice. The sotong is nicely cook and is springy too.
