Pisang Goreng Smile Sep 30, 2012
Categories : Malaysian variety | Stall / Warung

This goreng stall or truck has been running the business here for more than 20 years. There are many varieties of fried food such as fried popiah, fried tofu, fried sweet potato, cucur udang, kuih kodok (banana), kuih ubi kayu, fried lobak kuih, etc

The most famous and also my favourite is this pisang goreng (fried banana). The difference between the malay pisang goreng and this is that they use the whole banana to fried instead of sliced into pieces. It is very crispy at the outer layer and inner banana is soft. I love it when it's fresh fried, the banana tasted so sweet and the texture is soft that will melt in my mouth. The whole piece is so flavourful despite no seasoning is made before fried. It's super addictive eating it. One is definitely not enough !!

Grilled Octopus Smile Aug 28, 2012

Categories : Japanese | Food court | Seafood | Ramen/Udon/Soba

This is not an ordinary Japanese food stall. The seller has been working as a chef in Japan for many years back.
I love this grilled octopus. Huge and looks hard but actually is very 'crunchy' and refreshing. Easy to chew and addictive after a bite. The octopus is so fresh and just grilled with salt without any other spices or dressing. They are using the charcoal imported from Japan. Therefore the octopus has the nice grilled aroma and tasted with natural sweetness and juicy.
The seller provide us wasabi and shoyu sauce. However, he teach us the traditional way of Japanese style, dipped with mayonnaise !! It really taste different, bit salty, bit sourish and its super delicious.

Wagyu Beef Burger Smile Aug 08, 2012   (Related Review)

Wagyu Beef Cheese Burger @ RM36.00
It was served with nicely decorated mixed side salads, potato wedges, mustard and gherkins and wagyu beef burger at each side of the serving plate. The side salad are refreshing serving with their home-made dressing. The potato wedges are crispy at the skin and flavour in it.

The wagyu beef was sandwich with a toasted soft bread. It doesn't look big at diameter but the wagyu beef patties is thick with some ham on top. The patties is really moist and the meat is divinely tender. You doesn't need to add on any sauce on it, the wagyu beef is very flavoured and taste delicious. This is a perfect Sunday brunch for me.

ABC ice kacang Smile Jul 31, 2012
Categories : Indian | Food court

This is a drink stall selling ice kacang, chendul, soya milk, leong fun, sugar cane etc. I won't missed their ice kacang whenever I come to Batu Lancang Market food court.

A big bowl of shaved ice topped with huge and normal red beans, sweet corn paste, grass jelly, ''atapchi'' and showered with condensed milk, pink syrup and my favourite Sarsi flavoured syrup. Honestly I love their ice kacang majority due to the Sarsi syrup. Besides, the red beans and corns are extremely fresh and sweet too. Very cooling bowl of dessert that satisfy me after accompanied mum to the wet market next door.

Hokkien Pan Mee @ Lian Heng Smile Jul 15, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Kopitiam

Lian Heng Coffee Shop is located at SS19, at the corner of a row of shop lots.

There is a famous Hokkien Pan Mee stall inside. It's a family business and they really cook non-stop especially during lunch hour. We need to collect a number card from the stall first then wait for them to come over for your order. Patience is important in order to eat their pan mee.

Hokkien Pan Mee @ RM4.50 (small) RM5.00 (big)
This is the traditional style of ''tear'' pan mee. Very different from the long noodles we have nowadays. The texture is smooth and each pieces are roughly the same size. It is quite soft and bit chewy. Serve it with the special chili sauce make it perfect. Besides, the pan mee comes with minced pork with mushroom, crispy ikan bills, some sliced pork and sweet leaves. Everything is delicious !
