Hidden inside the hustle bustle Kota Damansara, there lies a beautiful Bakery Cafe – Boujour Garden with a French concept. You gotta drive your way around the Kota Damansara and beat the crazy traffic in that area to get to this! Don’t worry though, parking is plenty – you gotta pay for it.

The area of the cafe is huge, with an open air concept and plenty of plants around to make up for its French Garden concept. There are plenty of places so you don’t have to worry about not having enough seats. However, the place is surprisingly quiet. I went there during a weekend and there weren’t many people.

This open air concept is wonderful for the natural lighting but it’s somehow not practical in our country. Seriously, architects really need to re-tune their mindsets when designing an open-air concept especially in tropical countries. Sure, we get lotsa natural sunlight, making the entire place very beautiful…. They seem to forget the fact that our WEATHER IS HOT. So yes, honestly, as much as I love the setting, I will never opt to sit outside due to the warm weather, especially the temperature can fluctuate any time. I won’t be able to enjoy my food while sweating like crazy. No thanks!

I was first intrigued by the photos in the menu as this drink seems to be looking real good. I was so easily conned, I know but then I was in the mood for a good drink so I ordered this. With the mixutre of fresh lemon, strawberries and soda, this drink is really refreshing. One sip into the drink and it will wake you up thanks to the lemon zest that adds the sour yet cooling and rejuvenating. They also add in Strawberry syrup to give counter the sour taste. All in all, I love this thirst-quenching drink. The RM12 was well paid for!

Did I tell you? One of my western style soup would be Minestrone soup. And I don’t know how to tell you how good this soup was from Bonjour Garden unless you tried it yourself! This is definitely one of the best Ministrone Soup I have ever come across this far. There are too many instant Minestrone Soup around, but this is awesome! It is rich, flavourful and Bonjour Garden is also very generous with its fresh ingredients! And I love how it is not overly sour so that I could still taste the different vegetables boiled with the soup itself. The dish comes with simple toast bread which you could dip in. The portion is very generous too. Love it!
Tuna Mayo Sandwich RM9.90

I love how Bonjour Garden is very generous with their food. They definitely put in lotsa Tuna Mayo and vegetables for this simple sandwich. I could have like it better if not for the bread they use. The bread was so rock-hard that we were having so much painful moments just working out our jaws to chew the bread. In the end, I decided to gave up the bread and just finished up the filling only.

From this point, feast your eyes on their breads! We only bought some of them back home as they were pricier than other bakeries, something to be expected as Bonjour Garden is a premium bakery.

Dining in Bonjour Garden is a delightful experience thanks to their overall concept of the place. I love the selection of their breads and how we were all spoilt with their extensive menu. This place is definitely good for friends and family to hang out and spend time together as everyone would definitely find something they love or crave for from their long menus. If you don’t feel like eating, check out their menu on drinks too!

I enjoy my visit at Bonjour Garden. Their servings are generous and the surrounding is clean and comfortable. Despite the many choices of their beautiful decorated breads, we realised that they seem to be lacking in terms of taste. As for the dining menu, I might just come back to revisit again next time to try out their other foods.

Never judge a restaurant by it's appearance - something I learned when I sat down for a meal at Naab recently. I was expecting the usual "nose-in-the-air" environment but I was greatly mistaken. Naab is a fine dining restaurant manned by the very humble.
Hard to miss!

A warm feeling washed over me as I walked into a cosy lit hall with a friend in tow. The restaurant staff was quick to attend to us with a smile and courteous recommendations. I ended up choosing to sit outside to enjoy the view.

Following the menu, was a complimentary drink - a fizzy lemon concoction with a light minty taste that was so delicious. It was the perfect beginning to a brilliant eating escapade.

For starters, we ordered Barley Soup. It has a mild sour taste which is full of flavour. The texture of the cooked barley was very well done. I absolutely loved it!

Naab's signature Hot Bread goes well with the soup. This is freshly baked and a great accompaniment for many of Naab's flavourful dishes.

Mirza Ghasemi is a perfect example of one of the dishes that is excellent with Naab's hot bread. It is a scrumptious blend of smoked eggplants with cooked tomatoes, garlic and fried egg. If you fancy something light, this would be the perfect dish. In fact, I would go as far as replacing my roti telur breakfasts at the Mamak stall with this healthier version.

Food is served with a good sense of flow and timing.

Our order of Chicken with Barberry Rice arrived at the right moment. At first glance, the rice looks dry. What it really is, is soft and fluffy, not the starchy stuff we're used to. Noticing our concern, the waiter brought us some soup - on the house. Although I felt it wasn't necessary, I was pleased with the attention.

The berries give the rice an extra "oomph". The chicken? It's a lovely pairing for this dish with pickles and lemon as an option for an enhanced experience.

The last dish to arrive was Lamb Koobideh - lamb kebab wrapped in hot bread, served with salad and Persian shallot yoghurt. Mild, in comparison with all the flavourful dishes that was on our table but not thoroughly unappetising.

Overall, I am impressed with Naab's customer service and the passion they put into preparing their food. This is fine dining at the finest without a hefty price tag.

Madras Lane Yong Tau Foo Smile Dec 26, 2012

Categories : Chinese | Stall / Warung | Yong Tau Fu

The wet market food stall is located in little back lane next to Hotel Malaysia along Jalan Hang Lekir.
The store open at 9am- 2pm (or sold out) and closed on Mondays.
You will hit a long queue during weekend.
The signature for the stalls are the fried foo chok and stewed tofus.
It about RM 1 per piece which is quite affordable.

My favorite Yong tau foo at this stall are the stewed tofu, which come very soft inside with a firm skin, the juicy stuffed eggplant, lady finger, bitter gourd with the fish paste inside and the softly bouncy fish ball. Delicious lol

And dun forget with the sweet brown sauce and with the chili sauces together with the yong tau foo.

Bad taste Home Restaurant Cry Dec 13, 2012

Menu

Menu

Lately the concept of "Home made" dish is rising, due mainly because of the need of working people to dine at home. Thus lately, there are more restaurants coming out with this concept as part of their marketing plan, and In house cafe is one of such kind. Located just right next Shell station Genting Klang, this restaurant can be easily located as it is facing the main road leading to Wangsa Maju.

Since it is my first time in this restaurant, i decided to go for something more special in this restaurant. And in their menu, they have a Pork rice in Wooden container, looks a little bit special and unique for me. So i ordered this, and they took quite a while to serve the food to me. The whole restaurant staff look a bit messy and unorganized, it is like sitting in between of war zone. Where staff work in extreme stressful environment and services is bad. However, the restaurant are still properly clean up and at least it offer a comfortable seat.

The experience with this pork rice is bad, the whole food can be describe as such : A pork hard like a rock poured with tasteless condense liquid and placed on top of an egg which is cold and dry like a aged skin and the rice is not cooked properly that it is very hard to chew with. Though i ordered the sweet and sour sauce but it ended up tasteless, i had a bad dinner in this restaurant, but i guess i probably give this another try as they have a different variety of menu from dim sum to mee and rice.
