I never heard of Pelicana Chicken until it opened a branch in Kota Kinabalu recently. Few of my friends who tried it have full of praises but warned the place can be very busy at times and don't take reservation.Last week my husband decided we should go try and we chose Wednesday afternoon hoping it'll be quieter during weekdays. First impression of the place it certainly has some korean vibe with interior decorating especially the non-stop K-Pop songs from their sound system. The place was half full so we considered ourselves lucky. We family of 5 ordered a platter which come with 2pcs Crunchy Drumstick, 2 Wings, 8pcs Yongyeam, 9pcs Nuggets, French Fries, Rice and 2 side dishes. It took awhile for the order to arrive but the food doesn't disappoint. The chicken are well-seasoned and warm, somehow we prefer the Yongyeam flavor. It tasted refleshing different from other fried chicken restaurants and we like it. They provided us with plastic glove to keep our hands clean while eating and the kids absolutely enjoyed this.RM80 with drinks is certainly not cheap but reasonable, considering its decent portion, the place is new, air-conditioned and plenty of free carpark in the area. Overall we had good experience and will most likey come back again to try the few more interesting sets that caught our eyes in the menu.  continue reading
