Embracing the virtue of diversity, we placed our orders across different pages of the menu.

First up is the Unagi Bento (鳗鱼便当, RM16.50), which is Japanese eel for those not so familiar with Japanese cuisine. The portion is rather generous, and the seasoning is quite nice, though it wouldn't win any Iron Chef competitions.

Next in line on the chopping board is the Deep Fried Pork Chop Noodle (花莲炸排骨面, RM7.90). I have to hand it to the chef for the correct amount of deep-frying: Just enough heat to give the batter a nice crisp, yet preserving the juiciness of pork.

The same cannot be said for the Lemongrass Chicken Rice (柠檬香茅鸡腿排饭, RM9.90), which I think is overcooked, making its taste dry and unsavory.

As for the drinks, we had a Green Apple Pearl Milk Tea (青苹果珍珠奶茶, RM3.90), Champagne Pearl Milk Tea (香槟珍珠奶茶, RM3.90) and Orange Smoothies (鲜橙奶昔, RM5.90).

Another casual dinner with colleagues calls for a convenient place nearby. Taipei 101 serves its purpose again.Firstly, we ordered the Three Cup Chicken Claypot Rice (三杯鸡砂煲饭, RM9.90). It also comes with a fried egg, a serving of mapo tofu and some rice.

As for the Yong Koi Fei Chicken Noodles (杨贵妃鸡面, RM6.80), it is more enjoyable. The braised chicken drumstick is cooked well and flavorful. The noodles also comes with some minced pork.

In accordance to our "standard practices" in Taiwanese restaurants, we ordered a plate of Sweet Potato With Plum Powder (甘梅地瓜, RM4.80) to share around the table. I wonder why it is so addictive?

For drinks, we ordered the Pearl Milk Tea (招牌珍珠奶茶, RM3.90), Champagne Pearl Milk Tea (香槟珍珠奶茶, RM3.90) and Orange Smoothies (鲜橙奶昔, RM5.90).

Overall, Taipei 101 still lives up to its name as a reasonably-priced Taiwanese eatery, but don't expect anything particularly special here.

The main attraction of Taiwanese food is that it appeals to the mainstream crowd. The dishes are usually easy to eat, similar to local cuisine, and quite affordable. I believe this is the selling point of Taipei 101.

We arrived for lunch and ordered a simple meal for two.

First, Japanese Curry Chicken Rice (日式咖哩鸡扒饭, RM10.90) is something special and worth a try. I like how the gravy and potatoes taste together with the chicken fillet.

Before World War II, Formosa (former name of Taiwan) was a Japanese colony. This explains why Taiwanese cuisine retains certain elements of the Japanese's.

Taiwanese Pork Rice (台式猪排饭, RM7.90) is probably more well-known. The meat is done well, not too dry like some other restaurants.

Of course, we cannot claim that we went to a Taiwanese restaurant without ordered a serving of Sweet Potato With Plum Powder (甘梅地瓜, RM4.80). I think I am addicted to it, but I must remind myself that this is deep-fried and nutritionally equivalent to French Fries.

For drinks, we had Papaya Milk Shake (木瓜牛奶, RM4.50) and Champagne Pearl Milk Tea (香槟珍珠奶茶, RM3.90). However, I think it's similar to many other places.

Honey Dew Pearl Tea is a common delights of Pearl Tea. The Pearl is very soft and they are using the powder form of the HoneyDew taste to make the drinks. I supposed should be more delighting comparing to the syrup form. The pearls is also too soft and starchy

The shops is selling a variety of Taiwanese food as well as snacks and drinks.Papaya Milk Shake (木瓜牛奶) is another where they use the real papaya to blend.
