Kedai Kopi Swee Kong offers a variety of foods, such as char kuay teow, assam laksa, hokkien mee, and siam laksa.Penang Siam Laksa served with fish cakesThis Penang Siam Laksa is a must try. The combination of noodles, fish cakes and its broth is simply divine and scrumptious. They complement each other very well. It tastes even better with the sambal which gives it a bit of heat.

Kedai Kopi Swee Kong is a restaurant servings a wide range of cuisine. Majority cuisines available here is more to Indian like cuisine.Egg Sauce Wantan NoodlesThis dish is the egg sauce wantan noodles. The sauce is gravy and tasty. The noodles are soft and tangy. The wantan is not really nice, they slightly over-fried the wantan. The char siew (bbq pork) they used is very hard as you can see, it is dry.

There are two version of Hokkien mee in Penang – One is the soup base and the others are the dry type. Ask any Penangites what is their definition of Hokkien mee andyou’ll definitely get the same answer. It’s a blanched “bee hoon” or “mee” and added with crunchy bean sprouts, kangkung, eggs and sliced prawns with meat laid on top.Together with the good aromatic stock made from prawns, onion, chili paste and served with a sprinkling of fragrant “eu chang” – Shallot fritters, it is the perfect blend which made up the delicious Hokkien mee.
The dry version is called “Hokkien char” by the locals and it is made with fat noodles dried with dark soya sauce and eaten with sambal belacan. A slightly different taste but it is just as delicious. In the olden days, Hokkien mee sellers usually push or cycle their stall along the neighborhood “calling out” loud to tell people about their particular dish, but today the location are fixed at either coffee shops or hawker centreThroughout the island, you can find many places selling Hokkien mee. From Teluk Bahang to Jelutong and from Balik Pulau to Air Itam. The famous ones are perhaps located at Pulau Tikus and Perak Road Market. They have halal or non-halal version of Hokkien mee and is served together with additional top up such as chicken feet, spare ribs, intestines and others ingredients.
em.. for me my choice for yummy Hokkien Mee will be a few… is Pulau Tikus Market ( Swee Kang Coffee Shop, Cathay In Pulau Tikus and lastly will be the one in Yee Hong near BJ)

With the butter rice with it and topped with the juicy tender chicken drumstick, I am just felt so good and delicious. The chicken is very juicy and not too oily as well. With the slight saltiness on the skin itself, the chicken rice is just perfect and I wanted them for more.
Price: RM 4.50

Being bought to this coffee shop right opposite Pulau Tikus Police Station at Burma Road. Not much stalls at there but this wantan mee attracted me to order it. A plate of the wantan mee priced rm3.50,rm4.50 and rm5.50 for either small, middle or large size. It is with thick, creamy gravy and 3 fried crispy fried dumplings and other ingredients are few slices of mushrooms, char siew and pieces of chicken. The ban chang kuih here is simply good which is soft and sweet in the inside and crunchy at the tip of the ban chang kuih. I am loving it

The stall we visited is at Burma Road, Pulau Tikus, beside Solok Moulmein ; just opposite the police station,in front of a coffee shop called Swee Kong. The man has been in the business for more than 10 years, it was a popular stall. You can see cars parking beside to wait for their turn to buy the pan cake.
