They are not always open and I always need to try my luck to get the Tang Yen. *I think Saturday night usually don't have. This bowl of Tang Yen costs RM3. It comes with two with fillings and few smalls one without fillings. What makes this stall so famous is they do the Tang Yen and sell it upon your order. It tastes really fresh and very chewy. They have very limited seats for dine-in. And this stall is right opposite the Penang's Trader's Hotel. If you are there, sometimes u need to wait beside the road for seats. Many people come here all the way to take away too. The location of by the road side makes u feel like as if the old stalls in the old days.

On my way to my frens place, I passed by Komtar. There we stopped by the Jalan Magazine to taste the Hoe Hock Tien Tang Yuan. This little stall situated right opposite of the Shangri La Hotel. There are 2 types of Tang Yuen. One is the normal ginger soup and the other is the brown sugar based soup. While the tang yuen, there are 2 types as well. They are the normal, small sized tang yuen and the other is the larger version with either peanut filling or black sesame filling. The tang yuen is nice with the filling inside and it is indeed good. This is recommended for all Tang Yuen lover and those who exceptionally superb for ginger lover!

Ok if you wanna try this delicious cuisine, you can head to Magazine road and the stall is just opposite Trader Hotel, or First Avenue, a shopping Mall. This stall is a place you can go if you feel like eating some "Tang Yuan"

If you have no idea about the food, It is sort of ball made of Glutinous rice flour, where some of them the bigger one actually have some filling inside it, black sesame or peanut crunch, and this cuisine is served in a bowl of sweet ginger soup. Check the photo beside.

Ya come to the price, The price varies according to the size you order, it ranges funnily from RM 2.20 to RM 3.30, RM 4.40 & RM 5.50. I would say the price is reasonable and affordable in Penang. Below shows the difference price Tang Yuan. which is RM2.20 & RM3.30. The only difference should be the additinal 1 big Tang Yuan with filling at price RM3.30.
