It was tea time when I visited Frank Laurent coffee roasters. Without much deliberation, I decided to have my coffee fix alongside with a sweet treat! This time round, I went with the apple crumble waffle, which is basically a slice of crispy belgian waffles served warm with sliced apples, vanilla ice cream, cookie crisp and not forgetting a generous sprinkle of cinnamon spice to give it an extra oomph! The whole combination of the lovely treat was truly unforgettable!Moving on to the coffee, I tasted notes of chocolates and nuts, it also had a good yummy sweet finishing that had left me wanting more! continue reading

one of those underrated cafes in Penang that is worth a visit! Located near Tesco e-gate, it is rather an isolated mall on its own and it is the only bustling cafe in that compound. Drinks are definitely priced reasonably and alot of family and young adults flock during the weekends. Tried the Apple Crumble Waffle; a belgian waffle served with New Zealand Kapiti Vanilla Ice Cream, apple chunks. Ok, so these waffles are applelicious. Tasted like the real deal!Really love the texture of the waffles: thick, cakey and crisp on the outside and the best part is that the ice cream took awhile to melt down.  The ice cream's vanilla bean flavours complemented well with it. Coffee is roasted by the owner himself and they have a wide variety of drinks to cater to all types (they even have soda and chocolate for those looking for non-caffeinated drinks at night!) Had the flat white made with the Ethiopian Yigarcheffe Kochore and it was such a comforting cuppa. Tasted hints of butterscotch and caramel and the milk was smooth and creamy.  continue reading

I believe that more people are getting to know more about this small cozy cafe as Udini Square has launched its grand opening on 8 August 2015. They have limited seats and the place with simple setting is getting more popular as their limited seats are always occupied whenever I passed by. Having a big glass window facing Lebuh Tunku Kudin which allows the natural sunlight to flood in and the ambience was just so relaxing and comfortable, it is definitely one of the good place to spend an afternoon with friends for a relaxing chat or visiting alone to have some personal quiet time over there. They offer a wide range of freshly roasted coffee, teas, chocolates, cakes and waffles. We only had their coffee when we visited to this small cozy cafe. Their coffee are well priced but the desserts such as cakes and waffles are slightly higher. But, i think the cakes and waffles are seemingly worth to give them a try. They are definitely in my list for my next visit. Not being a coffee lover, i still find their coffee were enjoyable. They were worth for trying. And if you are a coffee lover, you should visit the cafe and find out your favourite.  continue reading
