Street food like the MUST HAVE Char Kuey Teow, Asam Laksa, Penang Har Mee, Cendol and so many more favorite of yours! Let's begin to hunt them out today (The restaurants are listed in no particular order. Some of the establishments below are not halal)

1. Pasar Air Itam Laksa

Asam Laksa? Yes! This sweet and sour Asam Laksa would be so appetizing especially when the whole bowl comes with a good broth made from fresh sardine fish, parsley and onions. Nice springy 'Laksa' noodle, how to not to go for it?

2. Char Koay Teow @ Kafe Heng Huat

What's Penang without Char Kuey Teow? Especially when you can get Duck Egg Char Kuey Teow here! Superb rich in taste and fresh huge prawns in it, worth your time and sweat for it!

3. 73 Asam Laksa @ Gurney Drive Hawker Centre

Another must visit place - Gurney Drive! So many hawkers here, do come over and try 73 Asam Laksa out! Delicious Asam Laksa with thick prawn paste to mix in, the broth is good as they too uses a generous amount of fish meat to cook it! Crowded with patrons, be patience while you wait for good delicious food!

4. Lebuh Pregrave Hokkien Mee

Prawn mee, or better to known as 'Hokkien Mee' in Penang, this Lebuh Pregrave Hokkien Mee is a must try too! Rich prawn broth, many would prefer to have it with yellow noodles and vermicelli! What about you? They do have cendol too, especially when you're craving for it!

5. Chulia Street Wan Tan Mee

Never skip this even if you're not into Wantan Mee! Thinly sliced Char Siu, fried wantan and the home made egg noodle that's springy and great texture - come here at night especially for some early supper munches!

6. Ah Leng Char Koay Teow @ Restaurant Tong Hooi

What is Char Kuey Teow without the basic huge prawns and cockles? Yes, this is the place for this tasty street food! Perfectly cooked with the right 'wok-heat', nothing is better than this! Prawns are super juicy and fresh, one plate will never be enough!

7. Kim Leng Loh Mee @ Joo Huat Restaurant

Thick gravy, dark in color and with egg drops and some thick yellow noodles, what else can you asked for a superb bowl of Loh Mee from Penang! Thought of skipping it? You'll regret it later!

8. Kimberly Street Koay Chap

Koay Chap, one of the must have here in Penang, will sure to capture your heart after this! Braised noodle with side dishes to choose from braised duck, pork innards, eggs, pork meat, braised tofu and more to choose from, they have braised porridge too! Ho chiak!
