I didn't discover this place until much later and it was so near my previous office! Situated in the secluded shoplots behind Baskin Robbins, Taiko has a very interesting shop front which looks like a traditional Japanese house architecture. The selections are not cheap for lunch. The hamburg bentou looks amusing, very different from the usual tenpura or yakiniku bentou. They take quite long to serve and when they do serve, it came a set by a set not all at the same time leaving some of my frien
At first bite, the hamburg was SUPER SALTY. It was only bearable eaten with rice without the sauce. But it would mean that I wouldn't get my gravy... But thats ok because the rice is moist. I tried eating the sauce with the taufu but it just doesn't taste right. The hamburg meat is actually quite tasty, a bit overcooked but tasty. The chawan mushi was a bit tasteless but still ok. The miso soup was the most normal tasting Japanese dish on the bentou together with the rice haha. It wasn't TOO BAD a meal but if they can just work on the hamburg sauce, it would be much better.
