Jigae means stew, which is one of my favourite comfort foods that satisfies my cravings instantly as well. This is naturally a signature dish offered by a Korean restaurant, which must give good first impression as well.

It came piping hot with ingredients such as sliced tofu, pork belly, kimchi, spring onions, onions and oyster mushrooms. The broth was quite thick, spicy and packed with punch, but a little close to the perfect kimchi jigae from Da Sa Rang in my books. I spotted minced garlic in the broth and chilli powder, which gave fragrant and extra kick. I will prefer if leaner pork belly slices were added instead most of them contained more fats. Overall it was quite a good Korean stew.
