A really good spot for a budget lunch, which usually costs me 3-4 bucks at most for a filling meal. There's usually a long queue, and seating style is like a mess hall. My usual choices are the pumpkin, tau gua (firm tofu), eggplant, and sometimes tempe. The pumpkin is mushy and sweet; the eggplant is mushy but oily, and spiced with chilis; the tempe is earthy and has that fermented scent that I actually like; and the tau gua is firm and juicy, and isn't as salty as it looks - s good substitute

A really good spot for a budget lunch, which usually costs me 3-4 bucks at most for a filling meal. There's usually a long queue, and seating style is like a mess hall.

My usual choices are the pumpkin, tau gua (firm tofu), eggplant, and sometimes tempe. The pumpkin is mushy and sweet; the eggplant is mushy but oily, and spiced with chilis; the tempe is earthy and has that fermented scent that I actually like; and the tau gua is firm and juicy, and isn't as salty as it looks - s good substitute for rice.

The profits fund the temple and food is healthier. Good feelings all around.
