Before Zakuro relocated to The Scott Garden it was situated at Jalan Ampang next to Ampang Park. This is my third visit after lapse of many years. I intend to order their set lunch which is more reasonable. The rice set price starts from RM19.90 with one main dish and RM24.90 for 2 main dishes. They are wide variety of main dish to choose from such as Salmon, Chicken, Tempura, Saba etc. After placing the order, we were served with one mini plate of appetizer. It tastes like preserved papaya however it was not. It seems that it was watermelon and they trim the flesh and left only the white flesh near the skin. It was very crunchy, sweet and sour. Yet they slice it thinly. After waited for 20mins, finally my lunch is served. I have Salmon Shioyaki, the set comes with Steam rice, Miso soup, mini appetizer and Watermelon. The overall portion is acceptable. Taste wise is just average nothing impressive. My friend who ordered Gyu Teppayaki and Salmon Terriyaki commented the overall taste is average only. For your information, Green Tea is not inclusive in the set lunch you need to add on additional RM3.00 for free flow of Green Tea.  continue reading

Zakuro2 is one of the japanese delicious foodie place to go. This time, we get their set meals to try around. The set meals comes : Tempura Moriawase + Cha Soba where it served with the small starter which is served chawanmushi, tempura moriawase, cold noodles, miso soup and mixed fruits. I love the tempura moriawase which is well served and it is crunchy at the outside with the bursting sensation of the hot fresh tempura taste. A full meals of it is just as perfect as it is to had . continue reading

Gindara Seaweed Butter, priced at RM45didn't really had the chance to take a bite of this (sobs) but it looks great from here! consisting of grilled black cod fish, served with a stack of garlic mushroom and buttery seaweed.Gindara Mentaiko, at RM48another interesting dish, with mentaiko being used as their topping! i first heard about mentaiko when i read Cheesie's blog and her obsessive fixation with cod roe. and since then i kinda developed a liking towards mentaiko too LOL. this dish, definitely did justice towards my love for mentaiko. not only is the cod fish meat were fried evenly and just right, the mentaiko topping were like tiny bits of explosives in my mouth. like fireworks. add batayaki sauce, this was like a dish made from heaven. continue reading

Cod Fish covered with generous amount of fish roe with batayaki sauce. Presentation wise, it looks simple and delicious. The fish roe on top looks delicious as well. I only had 1 bite but the fish was really soft and smooth. It didn't smell really fishy as well so I guess that is a plus point. Overall, the taste were pretty okay, not really special. Not something I would personally order. continue reading

The inaniwa udon here is also not bad. The udon mee is chewy. It is served with soup which have vegetables and seafood inside. The soup is quite nice. We also tried seafood fried rice. The seafood fried rice is just tastes normal only. The seafood is just little only. We also ordered some ice cream as desserts the mocha ice cream is thick and rich. It wont be over sweet. continue reading
