Every time I pass by this place, I always wanted to try the dim sum here. To me, since it was opened at night, perhaps it could be one of my hangout places. Then, my friend told me the dim sum is not bad so I thought of giving it a try. My friend said the Chee Cheong Fan is terrible so he saved me from eating it. Every time I pass by this place, I always wanted to try the dim sum here. To me, since it was opened at night, perhaps it could be one of my hangout places. Then, my friend told me the dim sum is not bad so I thought of giving it a try. 

My friend said the Chee Cheong Fan is terrible so he saved me from eating it. I almost wanted to order it when I saw the tempting photos. 

We ordered the Har Kau (RM 5) instead which turned out to be so-so. 

The Xiao Long Pau was the worst I have ever eaten in my entire life. The skin was too hard. In fact, all the dumplings there had hardened skin, probably because they have been kept from morning. I prefer the Xiao Long Pau in Shanghai Dumpling from Penang. 

The Siew Mai turned out ok so I guess I had to trust my friend's orders. 

The Fake Shark's Fin Dumpling was surprisingly delicious. 

I had the Sugarcane Chestnut Drink (RM 4) which was so refreshing and also not sweet at all.

Steamed dumpling. The size of this steamed dumpling were quite big, however, I think it was not being steamed properly. The top "curled up" parts were so hard, I had to cut off that part. The skin was thick also which I do not prefer. The inner filings were fine, meat and some prawns. The fillings were soft and not too salty. They just need to improve on the skin in the future.

Chili dumplings. Last time this chili dumplings were very nice, when the restaurant just opened for business. A few years later, the quality had deteriorated for some dim sum, including this. That day, I took a basket of this. The dumplings were big, no doubt, but the meat was quite hard and rough, and a few tendons in it. The sauce does not taste as nice as last time.

Har Gao. I will always order "har gao" (Prawn dumpling) when I dine in dimsum restaurant as I am a fan or prawns, especially the fresh ones. The Yuan Garden's prawn dumpling was quite small and the size was not standard. Nevertheless, the dumpling skin was intact when I forked it up. There prawns were fine, sweet and fresh. It had a "crunchy" type of texture, not a bad dim sum.

Chili Fu Chuk. There were three pieces of fu chuk in the basket, all medium size. The fu chuk wrapped the fillings nicely. The chilli sauce was not too thick and it slightly flooded the fu chuk. The fu chuk skin was soft. The inner fillings were fish paste and some meat. The sauce was not spicy and had some tanginess in it. Overall, it was an alternate option if one do not prefer the normal fu chuk.

Milo Ice. Since there were only two of us, we did not ordered a pot of tea. I ordered the milo ice. The milo ice was served in quite a big glass. It was filled with the right amount of ice cubes, not overloaded with it. They used quite a lot of milo powder as the drink was quite thick, which I liked it a lot. The drink was slightly sweet but it was fine with me. I have no complain on this.

Loh Mai Kai (Steamed glutinous rice with chicken). That morning, the restaurant was not full house, so the service was quite attentive. The loh mai kai has Chinese black mushroom, Chinese sausage, chicken slice and some char siew meat with it. The rice was moist and sticky. The char siew meat was sweet and nice. The chicken was quite dry. Overall, it was not too salty.

Steamed fu chuk roll. 这个蒸腐皮卷是有一点点淡味。那个腐皮不会很厚,薄薄地包着鱼滑在内。那个鱼滑有一点点腥味,我必须点酱去除那腥味。除此以外,那个鱼滑是有弹性的。我应该不会再点这个。

Deep fried prawn roll. There were three prawn rolls cut into six pieces and served alongside mayonnaise. The prawns were wrapped nicely inside the fu chuk skin and deep fried. The fu chuk was very crispy and not over-fried. The middle parts were stuffed with prawns that were sweet and succulent. The prawns were crunchy too. Overall, the dish was slightly salty and not too oily.
