Had the usual Ontama Bukkake Udon which comes with an option of hot or cold and i definitely chose the cold over hot as i personally felt that the texture would be chewy and springy when its cold. We had fried and steamed Chikuwa for the oden, and Kakiage for the sides. One of my personal favourite is definitely their Kakiage.  It's super cripsy and packed full of mixed vegetable strips, such as onion, carrot, and burdock.

my personal favorite would be the Ontama Bukkake Udon which looks bland but don't let the appearance deceive you as their udons pack a punch of flavour! I opine that their portions here are pretty generous and reasonably priced for those who are tight on their wallet. For those who loves having eggs with their noodles, do not miss out on their Mori-no-tamago, which is basically a type of Japanese egg that can be eaten raw. For those who loves having eggs with their noodles, do not miss out on their Mori-no-tamago, which is basically a type of Japanese egg that can be eaten raw. The texture of the noodles were really chewy. All their noodles are made fresh daily at the restaurant. If you're craving for a side dish and something to bite on after finishing your udon, their tempura is a great choice and my personal favourite would be the plain kakiage with or without egg. Both are equally good. The texture of the freshly fried tempuras were really crispy and it was not that oily.

So, it was quite tricky because Japanese food has never been cheap! Just when we were scouting around what to eat, we came across this place filled with people! The sign says Yoshinoya & Hanamaru Udon, clearly its serves Japanese food right?

So we decided to go take a look at the menu and guess what, the food there matched our budget! I ordered the regular Kitsune Udon which only costed me RM 8.80! The udon noodles were chewy and the texture was really nice. The soup was clear yet so flavourful!! As for the tofu, it was really soft and yummy.

My partner on the other hand ordered the regular chicken tempura which was RM 13.80. It was worth the money for the amount of tempura and chicken they gave! He couldn’t finish his food because it was too filling for him. The bowl may be small, but the food in the bowl sure can fill an empty stomach. The tempura was fried nicely, although some were abit soggy. The teriyaki sauce on the chicken was flavourful, it goes well with the white Japanese rice. Overall it was a great and affordable meal!

We went around looking for things to do after a healthy morning (bike hike). So me and my friends went to midvalley to try this Yoshinoya. We wanted to try it since 3 months ago but too lazy to drive all the way here. You know midvalley parking is terrible, always full! pfftt. But that day we found parking less than 30 mins, better than last time (1 hour!).So we odered this Ontoman Beef (sounds like ultraman beef tho) that cost RM13.80 and Beef Yakiniku Bowl set (RM13.80+RM3.90). So the Ontoman is the regular one that taste just beef with some seasoning, quite nice actually. Then as for the Yakiniku, it tasted a bit sweet than Ontoman beef. Oh! don't forget to add on sort of some chili flakes to make it taste sweet and spicy

I'm not interested with the soup tho, i think it is meant to be for someone that is seriously on diet. ;p The green tea can be refill but because i'm not a big fan of green tea, i only refill once. Must come again to try their Udon, looks good tho.

Overall: Self service, Nice healthy food, Fullhouse on weekend usually

I have seen this place opened for quite a while and noticed that the price of the food is quite reasonable at RM 12.80. The place is designed in a food court style. I have seen this place opened for quite a while and noticed that the price of the food is quite reasonable at RM 12.80. The place is designed in a food court style. We could not even get a table despite paying RM 55.60 for this type of food in an environment like this. Mum said they don't even have a waiter bringing us to the table and we had to look for own table. Mother was complaining about the expensive price whereas for me, I think the price is quite reasonable, that is, if you compare it to other Japanese restaurants.

We could not even find an empty table and had to wait at least 5 minutes for a table. I wonder why the place is so packed. I personally did not like to eat Udon because I prefer soba which is thinner. I do not like udon except when it is fried.

Me and dad ordered the Curry Udon at RM 12.80. The curry is thick enough and one thing is for sure, it is not as powdery as some others that I have tried. There are only a few meagre pieces of carrots and onions and 2 potato chunks inside. I could even count the toppings inside! Seriously!

Mum ordered the Spicy Miso Chicken Udon (RM 12.80). The miso soup was thankfully not as salty as the ones elsewhere. There was a watery half-boiled egg for this. This is mother's words as I did not get to try it.

The most expensive is the tempura which costs RM 4.80 each. We ordered two which costs RM 9.60. It is terrible as it is too expensive and the air has gone inside making it soggy. It is not particularly soggy but more to the air going in. A word of caution: Do not order tempura here unless you are willing to pay RM 4.80 for sogginess.

The tempura vegetables cost RM 3.80 but this is better than the tempura ebi as this is crispier and has more ingredients such as seaweed and carrots.

The Chawanmushi costs RM 3.80 each. There was no topping inside at all. I still prefer Chawanmushi in normal Japanese restaurants especially at Sakae Sushi which comes with fake shark's fins.

The tea costs RM 1.50 per pax. We spilled ours when trying to pour the tea.
