Yeng Keng Cafe and Bar is a nice place for dining. This is the third time I visit Yeng Keng Cafe. Main purpose for the Fathers Day celebration, at the same time, enjoy to the maximum while dining at Yeng Keng. I like the spring roll very much, the portion is big for each,RM8 per each and it is cut into 3 small pieces 1 roll. If your appetite is good and wish to try more, it is suggested for you to order one shot, if you add on, it may take some times for process. The sauce for the spring roll tasted special and nice too, mixed chilli and onions but not too spicy. For the kapitan chicken, the taste is the typical kapitan chicken taste, I like the sauce as well. For the inchi kabin, it comes together with some crispy prawn snack. The portion is half chicken and 5 people definitely can finish it. Inchi Kabin is basically fried chicken with Hainanese recipe. It gives me a feeling like normal fried chicken, it tasted special when you eat with the sauce. The special sauce I would like to say. The mixed vege tasted nice too, it is different from the normal 'chap cai', it has the traditional taste and nice. Ancient and oldies feeling to describe the mixed vege. Yeng Keng cafe is located just outside the Yeng Keng hotel. You can walk around the area, the hotel scenery is nice. There is a small swimming pool and some chairs available for resting. The decorations in the hotel is special and simple. However, it gives people a peaceful feeling. The vase which is located near the lobby of the hotel attract my attention too. Thumbs up for Yeng Keng. And I will visit YengKeng again to try out the chicken pie (need to pre order about 3 hours before).  continue reading

You can find different types of Malaysian, hainanese and international food here. Roti canai with a twistThis roti canai is served differently from other roti canai that can be found in mamak stalls or indian stalls. This roti canai is fused with hainanese cuisine in which the chef incorporated some hainanese element to this roti canai. It is served with a pan-fried egg and specially made hainanese sauce. However, the price is slightly expensive. continue reading

Yeng Keng Cafe & Bar is actually inside Yeng Keng Hotel, a heritage boutique hotel on Chulia Street at the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage City of George Town. It serves a wide range of western cuisines.Chicken chop with lemon sauceThis dish is fried chicken chop with lemon sauce. THe lemon sauce tasted a bit sourish and sweet. The fried chicken is very crispy and tender. continue reading

It was my mum who had craving for nyonya food that we decided to have our dinner here. 3 adults and 1 kid, the bill comes hefty. Pictures not included are the drinks (1 latte and 1 honey lemon tea). The kerabu was abit watery and the taste is not very good. That's why i give it thumb down. However, their famous Jiu Hu Char is nice. Mum wanted to have assam curry fish but since my daughter couldn't take any spicy food, i ordered another sweet & sour fish for her. The price for fish in the menu is depending on the market price from min RM30 for small dish. The fish in the sweet & sour tastes good, because the meats are fried beforehand. It is a little bit crispy outside and soft inside. The flour coated on the fish is just nice. The assam curry fish comes in 4 pieces (minimum order), with lady fingers, tomatoes, onions, bunga kantan and sprinkled with mint leaves. Unfortunately, it is not enough sour or else it will be perfect. continue reading
