I had visited yap hup kee since I was very young, don't even remember when was the first time I have visited with my family. It has been one of the spot we visit for lunch before we shop for groceries at the long gone hong kong super market in pudu plaza.

But I have not went to the place in such a long time, until one of the day I found it is still in business. This places serve pretty good chee cheong fun, it is one of the best that I have tasted. They have 2 types of chee cheong fun, one with sweet sauce and another with curry, I find the sweet sauce one nicer than the latter. They also serve lou shu fun, dry or soup, i prefer the dry one. Didn't manage to capture the chee cheong fun this visit, only got the lou shu fun snapped.

They also have yong tau fu where you can self pick at the counter, most are not bad also, I especially like the fried "vegetarian goose" (the one in the middle of the pic, mini dumbbell lookalike). We took a lot of the fried ones, pretty unhealthy, hehe.

We had 4 person, one of us simply took too many pieces I believe, we also ordered the fried prawn dumpling, pretty nice too.

Lunch turn out to be RM17 per person, while averagely it would only cost about RM11-12 from my experience.

I was told the chee cheong fun is a "must order" item and is very famous here. Well, true enough, it's silky, with aromatic and salty sauce; and "stinky" (in a good way) with dried tiny shrimp. However, it left me with a big carbo crash later during the day because it's just a pile of carbs that went down too easily due to it's silken texture and softness.
