Umai-ya not only serving ala carte food but they also offering buffet lunch on every Sunday. The taste of the beef was very strong and flavourful at the beginning but as I chewed on, the taste of the beef started to be taken off by the green onion, and at the end a fresh and balance taste was felt in the throat. Very great dish.

Last Saturday, I was hanging out my BFF at a new place. We have been observing this place quite sometime now but have not try it out yet. So, we decided to have it try for this month outing. Here we are, Umai-Ya's Japanese Buffet that serve only at Saturday and Sunday Lunch. Reservation is a must to confirm your seat. Umai-Ya Japanese Restaurant have 3 outlets in KL but only Uptown outlet serve Buffet. What is the price? It is RM58++ per person which is RM67.28 nett. I think the price is kind of

I think the price is kind of reasonable compare to other Japanese Buffet nowadays. The buffet start from 11.30am-2.30pm.

The place was quite big. There are 2 floors, we were placed on the 2nd floors. My BFF reach around 11.45am while I am a bit late that day. The place was quite nice and was not packed at all. At least we can have peaceful meal. All food and beverages are order from the menu. There are quiet a variety of Japanese food but not much compare to other Japanese Buffet in KL area.

Here are some of the food photos( cant upload all of it):

Ice Cream- (Chocolate, Green tea, Wasabi and Vanilla Flavour)
Look at the ice-cream, it is melted when it arrived to our table. We waited for more than 20 minutes for this and I guess the waitress just left it at the counter there. Anyway, I like green tea the most. Wasabi flavour was weird but good to try it out.

From those photos you can see that the potions are quite small, it is a good way to save us from wasting and we are able to order more. But I did feel that the quality and taste wasn't that good compare to its ala carte menu I used to had during weekdays. But my BFF love this place as they still think that the price is very reasonable for Japanese Buffet.

I don't usually go for Japanese food, but every now and then, the mood for sushi strikes me. The enoki wrapped in beef is also one of my favourites. Sweet and salty, with opposing textures of rough and silky. The beef could be a little more tender, though.

While I do not really prefer raw fish, the salmon carpaccio is really, really good. It's not strictly a carpaccio (which means very thinly sliced and completely raw) though; instead it's thickly sliced and very quickly pan-seared on the outer rims, which leave the middle mostly raw. That gives it twin flavours of cooked and raw salmon, which is really very delightful. The cooked portion is aromatic and flaky, while the raw portion is sweet and silky.

One thing I really didn't like is that everything is overpriced for the quality, and you can get pretty much everything almost the same (right down to the item names) at a far cheaper Sushi Zanmai. Must be the same company with different branding.

I won't return here, on account that it's super overpriced for the quality and quantity.

Went for a friend's birthday celebration at this Japanese Restaurant Umaiya Damansara Utama. It's a weekend lunch buffet and apparently to be one of the most affordable around @ RM46++. We ordered lots of sashimi (selection of fresh fish & scallop slices) and they are so fresh! The portions were really double worth and it appears as thick and fresh. Not to forget my favourite Soft Shell Crab Maki...yummy! It was so crispy yet delicious. . I would recommend you to come here and taste their deli
