Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream @ RM12.80

The outer layer of Swiss chocolate cake is oven-baked into crusty perfection, and the best moment arrives when the warm, smooth chocolate lava oozes in my mouth! The chocolate lava is very thick but surprisingly it is not overly sweet at all, delicious!

Tong Pak Fu is having a daily promotion where the selected flavor would cost only RM5 instead of the usual RM8. For Monday, the flavor is milk flavor ice shaved. The iced shave had a milky texture to it but I find it too sweet as the staff had added on top of the dessert condensed milk which overpowers the milky flavor of the ice. The side toppings were not bad either but the taroballs were small compared to snowflakes.

Not everyone can accept the taste of durian even though you make it into dessert. owever, the durian dessert here is really a blast to me.When this dessert served in front of you, the strong durian smell already goes into your nose. Followed by the smooth layer of ice. The ice here is so smooth that you can't eat any ce flake. When you put it into your mouth, it melts. And the the durian fragrance immediately spread widely in your mouth.

I will prefer Taroballs from Snowflake rather than Tong Pak Fu.
Although the portion is not that much, but still worth to eat with RM5 only.

This is the first time I tried the Tong Pak Fu RM 5 promotion snow ice ever since the promotion started. I never thought that I'll try the daily snow ice which is on the promotion as non of the flavors are my favorite. Anyway, I figure it's worth a try since it's only RM 5. I couldn't get any cheaper price for that snow ice. Overall, it was kinda good. If you like milk, then you should give it a try.

There's something about mango-based desserts that just really appeals to me. I just can't get enough of it. Upon spotting the mango sago with pomelo on the menu at Tong Pak Fu, I couldn't resist. The mango richness was so intense and creamy, and the sweetness is just right. The abundant bits of pomelo gave an added dimension of sweetness and texture. Perhaps one of the best mango desserts I've ever had.

Since they were having daily promotion for different desserts, I decided to try their milk snow ice on Monday, since it was only RM5 for a serving. The milk ice tasted like thickened milk - very sweet and creamy. It was good, but wouldn't be good on its own. Good thing it was served with some Q-jelly (texture went very well with the milk ice), taro balls (which seemed out of place in terms of texture and flavour - too chewy without any real flavour), red bean (which was too sweet to match with the milk ice), and mango (which was soft and sweet and somehow just made the dessert very nice despite the double sweetness).

I think I would prefer it more if it was all just mango and perhaps some Q-jelly.

Last Saturday I felt the itch again after lunch, and I decided to drop by Tong Pak Fu in KLCC. After much indecisiveness between durian snow ice and black sesame snow ice, I settled for the latter. Why? Because it was cheaper and was served with strawberry slices; therefore if it wasn't as good as expected, as least I'd still have strawberries and I wouldn't be paying as much as the alternative.

Texture was amazing. It was like lasagna, but in ice form. Imagine hundreds of distinct yet soft layers of smooth ice as you plunge your spoon through. Flavour-wise, I found it strong - perhaps a bit too strong. The taste was pleasantly nutty and earthy, but had too much ash flavour. Perhaps that's the natural black sesame flavour (which they didn't attempt to mask or filter out). All in all, it's not bad, but I wouldn't say it's my favourite dessert. By merit of the texture and general quality, I would definitely come back again to try their other desserts.

Originated from Hong Kong, Tong Pak Fu in KLCC has a very eye-catching sign board, with the cute funny comic characters. The interior wall is painted with comics too, giving diners a very vibrant and relax atmosphere. Suits the high-tea feel hey! We ordered 3 desserts to share. Tracka durian snow ice is the star of Tong Pak Fu, hence a must try! The finely shaved durian flavoured ice melted in your mouth straight away. Creme brulee tastes good too. The egg pudding with the caramelized top layer is very well done, very smooth in texture, chilled inside yet warm outside.

We also had the Chilled mango sago creme with pomelo, which is not bad too though not as good as the previous two. The mango could be sweeter, and it would definitely taste better if it is served with more ice (more chilly).

There were only 2 people in the shop by the time we passed by, but we were attracted by the photo of the ambassador-Sou Si Wong and decided to give it a try. The environment was comfortable enough even though the tables are too small to fit 5 of us in. Anyway, as there were only few customers by that time, we managed to sit comfortably and were served politely by the workers. Once we have got the menu, we quickly looked for the cold dessert page. There were some choices with the words"best seller" stated on them, so we decided to explore the reason behind the sales. After some consideration, we ordered 3 different dessert for 5 people, so that we could have a try on more choices of food. They were mango snow ice, chocolate snow ice, and the glutinous rice ball with black sesame and peanut topping. Although it was warm and we wanted so much to have ice to be melted in out mouth, we were alarmed that eating too much cold is bad for health, so we decided to order a hot dessert. To me, the service was great as it took only few minutes for the workers to serve us with the mango snow ice. It was served with some honeydew and something gelatinuous, which I could not recognize what it is. Anyway, it tasted great and burst when I bit it. The combination was perfect. The ice snow was really delicate and the soft texture made us finished it within 5 minutes. When we were busy tasting it, came another dessert-the chocolate snow ice. Still delicate, but this time around the snow ice was accompanied by some banana slices and nata de coco. The chocolate-flavoured was not so much delicious as compared to the mango-flavoured, but still we enjoyed it much. Then, we were served with the glutinous rice ball with black sesame and peanut topping. The timing was right and the workers were successful in keeping us busy eating in the shop! It was scrumptious. My Malay friends who have not tried rice ball before complimented it and I was so proud of it. Another point to be added is, the restaurant is Halal and suitable for all Malaysians.

The workers are friendly and patient. I can't see why the shop was not patronized by many people when I was there, except for the fact that it wasn't lunch hour yet. =D
