First impression was I like the way they presented this dish, simple yet appetizing. It came with chicken thigh meat, long green beans, green curry gravy as well as rice.I love the addition of some brown rice, providing a healthier option. The chicken although tasted tender and quite well seasoned, I thought it was a little cold. The green curry sauce tasted quite rich in texture and spices, but it could have been better. It was again a little cold for me. Green beans were nicely done till perfect crunchy texture. Rice was fluffy and decent as well, I can find quite an amount of crushed ginger in it, indeed having nice aroma. continue reading

A quick lunch break at Thai Up! located at LG of the gardens. Large sitting place.Order their fired rice with grilled chicken chop with green curry. This is their speciality dish thus I give a try on it. The green curry taste not so spicy and the rice is not white rice they served brown rice. Besides the grilled chicken chop taste normal and does not have any grilled up taste. Overall is just a plain normal meal not much Thai feel on it. It cost me RM14.90 before tax. But their staff service is very good! thumbs up for them!! continue reading

I love hot and sour food. Since the Korean restaurant/cafe was full, I opted for Thai food. We chose to sit at the table facing the famous Siew Long Bao Chinese restaurant – Ding Tai Fung. Huh, how a nice reality show!I ordered Pad Thai (MYR14.90), a popular fried rice noodle from Thailand; while my brother ordered their chef’s recommended dish – Mixed rice + Grilled chicken with Green curry sauce (MYR14.90).My Pad Thai: Stir-fried rice noodle with LITTLE bean sprout, served with 1 blanched prawn and 2 slices of blanched squid, 1 teaspoon of chili flakes and 1 tsp of pounded peanuts. The rice noodle was stir-fried until sticky, not tasty and quite greasy. It was plain with little bean sprout only. The seafood was overcooked especially the squid was too rubbery! For the rice set, the rice was fragrant with ginger and nice to eat with the coconut-based green curry gravy. The only complaint was the cooled and overcooked chicken (They did not reheat it properly or we waited too long for the cutleries to be brought?).We were totally not satisfied to pay the 10% sluggish service charge. Firstly, the staffs ignored us but went to take order at the table next to us even we reached first. Secondly, they did not bring cutleries to us when serving food and we have to wait about 5 min for the cutleries. We definitely will not visit here again. continue reading

The Thai style roast chicken rice is something worth trying. Thai Up serves a wide range of genuine Thai cuisines here and their ambiance here is very cozy. The roast chicken in this dish is roasted to tender and smooth. It tastes very nice and the rice they used in this dish is something special. They added a lot of spices in the rice itself. This dish comes with some vegetables on the side, adds some freshness to the dish. A recommended dish. continue reading

Thai up's menu served a few variety of rice and noodle. Under the House Specialty, there are 1 type of rice and 4 types of noodles for you to match with your desire meat and 4 types of sauces. The cost of the house specialty are; RM14.90 for chicken meat and RM16.90 for seafood such as prawns and squids. The interesting part is the diner get flexibility to choose either rice or noodle. Rice would be what they called it Thai mixed rice which is the mixture of fragrant rice with brown rice other than that would be any one of the 4 types of noodles to choose from such as vermicelli, glass noodle, wheat noodle and rice noodle. As for the 4 types of sauces such as Green Curry, Red Curry, Spicy Lemongrass and Spicy Basil. We have ordered House Specialty Thai mixed rice with chicken meat on Green Curry. This dish was delicious, the milky thick Green curry taste very good. The Green curry along with the mixed rice and the grilled chicken meat made the whole dish superb. . The grilling smell on the chicken skin was captured, smell so nice and taste so good. I personally think that the portion of the rice is just enough for the ladies. I will certainly return to try other dishes for the sake of their delicious sauce. continue reading
