Lucky me, mom took me for Japanese lunch after I told her that I've been craving for it. At first we were thinking of getting something else but then I pestered her into having Sushi Zanmai, plus she wanted to treat me since I followed her around while she ran her work errands. As always, we would always order Beef Sukiyaki that comes in a nice pot over a stove to keep the soup hot for as long as we want. We love the sweet & savoury soup that infuses itself into all the vegetables as it continues to simmer. The meat is just nice as you blanch it in the boiling soup and then dipping it in the raw egg which is provided to you. For mom she ordered the grilled mackerel with salt. We both always order this to share and sometimes with an extra bowl of rice if we do not get some sushi as sides. As per usual this never fails us unless we are served a portion that is not cooked to order but so far that only happened once before.And because I'm greedy, I also ordered a soft shell crab handroll. Maybe I am fussy but this wasn't as good as I expected it to be because the filling was only substantial and the soft shell crab was cold. Disappointing.

Went to Sushi Zanmai at Paradigm Mall for dinner with the family. As usual, there was a huge line outside the outlet and looking for a parking space on a Friday night was really tiring. However, since sis was back for the weekend so we went out for dinner. As usual we ordered what we normally ordered which are...Well actually this was the first time we ordered this but sis said it was super tasty so we tried it and yes it was amazing. Totally love the combination of egg omelet and the sauce on the top And this is what I normally order to lie to myself that it is a healthy diet. Haha. But I totally love this huge bowl of salad with sliced raw tuna and salmon. You can opt for three different types of sauce but I normally order the Zanmai sauce as this is the sauce that my family likes. This oyako-don is what my mum and sister ordered to share. 6 pieces of large succulent oysters in tempura flour on a bed of white fluffy Japanese rice with plum pickles. Soft shell crab maki is also what we normally order as mum needs her share of soft shell crab whenever we go to Sushi Zanmai. LOLs! But seriously the soft shell crab is so delicious that we never fail to order itAnd this is another soft shell crab maki but with avocado and the mentai sauce. I can't recall its name but I think it is the Dragon Roll? Anyway, the creamy avocado and the total combination of this roll is just amazing!Overall a great dining experience at Sushi Zanmai!

这是他们的麻辣拉面，这碗拉面的份量其实并不多，所以比较大吃的人可能会感觉吃不饱。麻辣拉面的汤汁味道还满不错，虽然都可以跟拉面专卖店的口味来相比，可是味道还是不错的，够辣，够刺激。面条的口感也不错。

To begin, I would like to say that I am a person who loves Unagi. Furthermore, I too love runny egg and Japanese fat-rice. I believe that the 3 ingredients that I've mentioned could make an excellent combination of flavours, texture and aroma. Thus, I'd expected a lot from this dish but all it had for me was disappointment. I expected the dish to had deeper and stronger flavours with a good amount of runny yolk. Unfortunately, I did not.
