My favourite MAMAK in KL! This mamak is open 24/7, but somehow the cheese naan is only available night time? As there were one time I went in the morning, but they told me the naan is not available in the morning☹ For me, they have the best garlic cheese naan and their generosity on cheese do win my hearts as compared with other mamak selling naan. Their cheese ain’t just the cheddar slice but if I’m not mistaken, they do mix other cheese like Mozarella or Pamesan? Cheese lovers gonna love this naan so much! Highly recommend this dish for everyone! P/s: If you ordered both cheese naan and garlic cheese naan, try the one without the garlic first, as the garlic would overtake the smell of the cheese. I once ate the garlic cheese naan first, then the cheese naan was like tasteless to me! Cheese Naan is good, but Garlic cheese naan is better! #CheeseNaanFTW For Video Game Players or Cyber Café-er, this mamak will be a great choice for you as next to it, you can find the cyber caférange. And I always see a lots of them coming here to grab their supper or meal after their game and so. It’s a bit sad to say but I used to be their big fan of milo kosong ais. They serve really chocolate-ty milo last time but now, maybe after the high ratings and so, or maybe they started budgeting on Milo powders, it seems like their milo ais not as good compared to last time☹ I miss their really good Milo Kosong Ais!This picture was taken after me eating one slice. It's too good that I can't wait to feed myself instead of feeding my phone  continue reading

LGB's best friend is coming to KL for a holiday trip with his Hongkie fiance (No, they are not offence by the use of that term. I have checked with her!)They asked us to bring them for food; something that can get a taste of Malaysia. Well, first thing that popped into my mind was BAK KUT TEH! But I don't know any good BKT at night and en route from KLIA to Berjaya Times Square Hotel (where they are staying). In the end, LGB took the decision to eat in a rather hygienic mamak aka the slightly fancy-looking Steven's Corner in OUG.I google and found a couple of their signature dishes and we try all of them! Sad to say the most recent review of Steven's Corner is quite true ie. nothing to rave about. Photo courtesy of SomewordsinmyheartMaggi Goreng (Fried Maggi Mee) @ RM3.50It's rather bland if you asked me, I prefer the not-so-hygienic 868 mamak stall in Seri Kembangan compared to this. Even LGB who isn't much of a foodie can point this out.Goreng Burung Puyuh (Fried quail) @ RM4.50/pieceThese delicacies are quite rare to find in KL and I must say mamak always give the best fried chicken and these not much different of a fried chicken and it's quite dried out.Roti Tisu (Pratha bread made into thin cone shape) @ RM3.00It's the usual Roti Tisu that you can get from any other mamak shop. Since I am on less-sugar diet, this was rather sweet to me and 5 of us can't even finish half of this. So sad that we actually leave food on the table!Naan Cheese @ RM5.00Of all the signature dishes, I must say this is the only one worth trying. It's exactly like all the review said, it's soft, warm and fragrant with melted cheese. It's like biting into a cloud of cotton cheese~! Heavenly~Menu photo courtesy of Word-flavourAll in all, I think it's quite a disappointment to bring a foreigner to get a taste of Malaysian but met with mediocre quality of a famous name mamak.Verdict :Taste - 1/5 (Out of 4 dishes only one is great. This says it all.)Ambience - 2/5Hygiene - 3/5 (Slightly better than mamak by the road.)Service - 1/5 (Staff are quite impatient in doing their job and it can be tasted from their food too.)Value for money - 4/5 (Pretty much the same with mamak stall.Details :Name : Restoran Sri Steven's Corner Address : 18 & 18A, Jalan Hujan Rahmat Dua, OUG, Jalan Kelang Lama, 58200 Kuala LumpurGPS location : 3.072092,101.672933Phone no. : +60 3-7781 9762Operation hours : 24 hours continue reading

continue reading

I have to say, I have eaten at countless Mamak but nothing comes close to the euphoria of Stevens Corner at OUG. In fact, this outlet here wins over all their other outlets hands down. Every night it's crazy packed and sometimes patrons have to wait up to 20-30 minutes just for a table! Seriously, they have the best Mamak food. I'm crazy over their Mee Goreng Mamak, Maggi Goreng, Roti Telur, Naan Cheese, Nasi Lemak and of course, the ultimate Roti John. Yums continue reading

If you have never heard of Steven's Corner, it is now the moment for you to have an overview about this famous spot for people, especially youngsters, to hang out in the midnight. Read the articles here (http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.415759338358.193647.714713358&type=3)! I usually visit Steven's Corner when I stay overnight at Don's house, which also means I rarely drop by the restaurant. Yet, I will always be sure to return for their Roti Telur Cheese without having to go through their menu to try something else. It is literally Roti Canai, a type of Indian-influenced flat bread famous in Malaysia, filled with egg and cheese, giving you a springy flavor as you chew a mouthful of it. Om nom nom!Don preferred to have something heavier that night, as he was in hunger. Thus, he ordered Cheese Naan. For your information, naan is quite similar to Roti Canai, but they don't look the same. Naan is a leavened, oven-baked flat bread usually cooked in a tandoor, whereas Roti Canai is often flattened, oiled, folded, and fried on a pan. Needless to say, Don's Cheese Naan was just as finger licking good as it seems from the picture above.Every dinner at Steven's Corner that I had was extremely sinful indeed, for the amount of oil I had consumed and the fact that I tended to go to bed before digestion. I was never brought to the restaurant during the day! Albeit so, I would highly recommend you to order Roti Telur Cheese should you drop by Steven's Corner at OUG, Old Klang Road one day. It's definitely worth a try!My Blog: http://jcheerios.blogspot.com/2013/04/late-dinner-at-stevens-corner-old-klang.html continue reading
