Always wondered the meaning behind the name of the place , is it where you gain back your soul during the weekend? Or you will forget your soul because the place is too awesome?Or are they trying to imply they have "sold out" meaning the food is way too awesome to have any leftovers, just wondering.....

SOULed Out

Here comes the dishes..

SAKE SAN ( 8 INCH RM25)
Is a thin crust pizza topped with salmon silvers, lollo rosso, ebiko, wasabi, mayonnaise, cherry tomatoes.
Quite confuse about the taste. it feels like eating sushi without rice =s
btw, I liked how the mild wasabi and mayonnaise complemented the salmon slivers.

SPAGHETTI CARBONARA (RM20)
was sinfully rich with bacon and garlic cream sauce.
the sauce was really good *recommanded*

B-B-Q CHICKEN PIZZA (8 INCH RM19)
Comes with marrinated chicken, corn, bbq sauce, pepper and tomato salsa.
and here comes mine...

CHICKEN GORDON "BLUR" (RM23)
is a boneless chicken leg wrapped with ham, cheddar cheese and sausage with cold mayo
vege and fries. To be honest the taste is really so-so. not understand why they put "Lip smacking" logo on the menu. hmmm...

CLASSIC HOME MADE BEEF BURGER (RM18)
Home made beef patty with lettuce and cheddar chesse served with fries.
and drinks most of us order fruit coktail juice that cost around RM8-RM13=)

Ambiance: 6/10
Price: 6.5/10
Food: 8/10
Verdict: A great hangout place with good booze and hearty fares.

Something that goes really well with beer and good company, it must be nachos and the one at Souled Out is one of the best in town. Munch your way while gossiping or watching a match of football. I'm emphasizing on the texture because I've tasted some which are thick and crunchy and some might not like it. I personally prefer the thin and crispy ones. The sauce that came with it was also very appetising. If you're wondering if the sour cream is enough or not, believe me, it's more than enough as it's the thick type. Imagining it is making me hungry already!

This is the best dish I’ve eaten there so far. Also, I liked that there are some vegetables such as lady fingers and long beans with belacan on the sizzling plate too. At least they provide fibre as opposed to all meat. They’re spicy and full of kick when eaten hot!

One dessert is never enough. The must-try dessert here at Souled Out is the Lava Cake. Although it looked small, it is big in taste! The warm moist chocolate is a delight to have as it is really rich in chocolate taste. It is topped with praline sauce and Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream. The sensation is good when the cold ice cream meets the warm chocolate. Such a wonderful way to end the meal. Bliss!

For dessert, we ordered the Pannacotta. It comes in a small serving and it’s actually quite cute to look at. We had the raspberry flavour instead of caramel. This Italian style cream mousse is sweet to the palate and has a very smooth finishing. It’s a little too sweet for my liking. Nevertheless, it’s quite a good dessert has it has a strong fragrance of vanilla.

For a variety, we ordered the Sake San. There are fresh salmon strips on top of the pizza with Japanese mayonnaise. Besides that, each pizza slice is topped with fresh salad, adding some crunch to the thin-crusted pizza. I loved this as it gives out a refreshing taste with the fresh salmon and salad while the mayonnaise adds flavour to it. It also has a hint of wasabi for the extra kick!

I also ordered the Seafood Marinara as my friends do not take beef. The penne is al-dente, while the tomato based sauce is at the right consistency, not too thick or watery. It also has quite a strong sourish flavour, which is to my liking. It comes with generous serving of mussels, prawns, squid and fish chunks too. All the seafood is done well too. I liked the tender fish chunks. It does not give out the fishy taste.

I loved the Char-grilled Chicken at Souled Out. It is infused with aromatic black pepper sauce where it doesn’t drown the fragrance of the chicken due to the char-grilled method. The black pepper is just nice without being too spicy. It is served with sautéed mushrooms and panache vegetables, which is a delight to have. It also comes with mashed potato, placed underneath the chicken.

Lamb Shank is tender and flavourful; the gravy is very nice if eaten with freshly baked crusty bread like baguette. The portion is huge, with mash potatoes and a bed of grilled vegetables. I did not try their pasta but according to my friends who ordered carbonara and salmon alfredo, it’s yum. Great sauce and fresh ingredients.

The Char Grilled chicken RM22 that I order is quite disappointing. Some parts of the thigh tasted fine but some parts are over grilled, and it’s like eating cardboard. The grilled vegetables are okay.

Apart from western fares, they have local food and northern Indian food too, but we didn’t order any of those items tonight.

The mocktail that I ordered, is very delicious, with huge chunks of soursop. Their watermelon mojito tasted weird though. They have some RM10 for selective cocktails on-going promotion if you were there before 7pm.

Chocolate lava cake is not lava enough
They have local desserts like ice kacang too. The service is great and fast; they have tons of servers walking around ready to serve you. I was given a feedback card to fill up at the end of our dinner.
