Char Kuey Teow Curry Laksa Pork Noodle Toast
Review (6)
Lots of my friend have recommended me the Char Koay Teow at Restoran Seng Lee, Damansara Heights. So on Sat noon I went to try it with my friend and I feel the koey tiao has a very strong taste of pepper and garlic. Where's the lard and soy sauce? Maybe it's their very own style. It's still very far from Penang's typical Char Koay Teow. It does not taste bad, it's OK, but then the koay teow (local call it hor fun) is small and it's not my favourite. continue reading

Char koay teow is one of common food in Malaysia. To find a fried koay teow isn't that hard but to locate a stall which serve a decent char koay teow is. The fried koay teow here is not bad. The koay teow enough wok hei. The koay teow taste of the mixture of sweet and spicy. If there are lots of people, do wait for patience because he only cab fried maximum 2 plates to remain the quality. continue reading

Love the yumminess of ramen pork broth but don't wanna pay the steep price? Come on down to Jalan Batai for the pork noodles - it's the most intensely rich pork broth you can find in an inexpensive coffee shop. The broth is salty from pork, and the additional pork lard just makes it explode. When asked for extra egg, nod excitedly - it thickens the broth and gives that extra "sauce" to your noodles when you break the runny yolk. The amount of pork is generous, and I always nod when the boss suggests to add anything extra like pork balls. More pork equals happier breakfast. Fact.My favourite combination of noodles is dry hor fun. The hor fun is soft, fine, and silky and holds the sauce very well. The sauce itself is salty, sweet, and has a hint of aroma that most places don't. I can't put my finger on what it is though. Perhaps is the scent of a happy weekend breakfast.I'm never sad after eating this for breakfast. continue reading

I used to avoid pork noodles as it comes with innards and most of the time pork meat and balls are relatively little to the usual portion with innards. I had mine with kuey tiaw mee soup, added an egg but I didn't like the soup version as it was lacking some kick and the noodle was soggy. Besides, eggs didn't really go well with this soupy pork noodle. This drink was slightly watery due to excessive dilution. Flavor wise, it was still good. continue reading
