While the tom yam soup did not give a wow factor in my previous review, the chicken soup kinda calmed myself down from the dissapointment. It is very 'cheng' (light for the tummy and appetite), minimally flavoured from the chicken bones and other ingredients. It did not taste too salty like the tom yam version, which is perfect for cooking vegetables, beancurd and seafood. However, it hardly left a memorable impression as I have tasted much better ones elsewhere.

Tom Yam soup is a must whenever I dine in a steamboat restaurant as I personally love anything spicy. Once the broth is well boiled and seasoned, the whole experience is pretty much an enjoyable one. Here in Yuen, the soup has a pretty spicy kick and adequately filled with spices, but a tad too salty even before adding the ingredients. A little dissapointing, but the fresh sliced fishes provided make up for it. Overall the tom yam soup still needs improvement.
