This corner coffee shop in Paramount was a popular place for Hokkien Mee and Cantonese Fried Hor Fun. Because i have stayed in Petaling Jaya for so many years, i have seen many of these food come and go, or how it was tasted so good in those days and compared how commercialized it is for today. The hokkien mee is available at night only. The taste and flavors were no where comparable to years ago, even though i assumed it is still run by the same people or family. The cantonese fried hor fun was still tasty. i don't like the hokkien mee, too oily and not enough flavors. Ingredients such as pork slices or even vegetables are so precious, they were very litte in the dish. continue reading

One of the reasons why I love this noodle is because it is healthy! The soup does not contain MSG or artificial stuff. It's boiled from bones and contains a natural 'sweetness' (not sugar sweet) to it. It is chocked full of ingredients like fish cakes, squid, prawns, vegetables, tomatoes and salted vegetables. The noodles are chou (rough/thick) mihun which absorb the taste of the soup very well. continue reading
