My colleague, Sally once brought me to this area for frog porridge. I am very grateful she brought me that day as it helped me to discover this new area which has a lot of cafe and kopitiam which spells FOOD. I came here for a revisit of the porridge as it was quite late and we were hungry. We ordered a plain claypot of thick congee and ginger with black sauce frog that was very fragrant. You can come here if you are not scared of eating along the drain which is not bad at night. Details: Addres

When we reached there at about 8 pm after a traffic jam from Jalan Templer to Old Klang Road and also a traffic jam due to the Night Market there on a Thursday which we were unaware of. We walked through the market and reached the coffee shop. We sat a table along the pathway and quickly ordered the Frog Porridge (which I only discovered when I reached there and looked at the menu).

We ordered one medium claypot of frog porridge which cost RM 14. I was tempted to ordered the black sauce fried frogs but I thought that perhaps I could eat some other snacks at the night market so wanted to reserve some space for that. They actually also sell Small sized frog porridge for a mere RM 7 a bowl!

Fatty Frog is a stall at Restaurant Ninety Nine in Taman OUG which sells a variety of porridge, steamed fish head, kung pou frog leg and meat. Among the types of porridge being sold are the Fish Porridge With Century Egg, Century Egg With Pork Porridge, Frog Meat Porridge and mussel porridge. If I am not wrong, the price of the porridge starts from RM 7. Mum and I ordered their chopped garlic and ginger steamed fish head. The fish is of "Soong" fish type. Chopped garlic and ginger steamed fish head (RM 24)

Although we ordered a small portion of the fish head, but the fish head arrived is actually quite huge. We had a hard time finishing up the fish head. But we enjoyed the dish very much as the fish was fresh and the flesh was smooth and sweet because the fish was steamed just right, not over steamed. I especially love the flesh of the cheek. It is the best part of the fish. Luckily, the fish doesn't have the fishy or mud taste. I like the accompanying chopped garlic and ginger which gives the fish slightly spicy in taste but it does get spicier with each bite. The gravy is also quite good, not really salty. In my opinion, the fish is charged at a reasonable price because the fish head is actually quite big.
