My boyfriend ordered the minced pork porridge and he added a salted egg and a century egg. I took some of his porridge as he took some of mine. I find that the minced pork porridge ironically lacks of minced pork. The porridge is also not as smooth as I would hope for it to be, but it is still acceptable. The salted egg and century egg added much needed flavour in this dish.I wish that they would provide sesame oil next time as I prefer the porridge with sesame oil. This dish costs RM9.50+ after adding the century and salted eggs. continue reading

Porridge Time is one of the restaurant that is selling pretty decent porridge. One of the branch is located at Lower Ground of Paradigm Mall. The restaurant is quite small, or we can define it as kiosk, with less than 20 small tables, if I am not mistaken. The interior design is nothing special. But, this restaurant normally full house during lunch hour. They have plenty choices of porridge, such as ish, seafood, pork, prawn, farm frog, chicken..etc. You also can order some side dishes to add into the porridge to make it more delicious (egg, century egg, salted egg, you tiao, seaweed, peanut etc). Beside this, they also serve dry noodle, claypot farm frog with kong pou style, fish cake, herbal braise chicken, steamed vege, tong sui etc. We have ordered 3 type of porridge, Fish Porridge, Teng Chai Porridge and Mince Pork Porridge. All the porridge is served in individual piping hot clay pots with ginger, spring onion and sesame oil. The porridge texture was thick and not too diluted. Personally I like the Teng Chai Porridge very much. It comes with lots of century egg as well as crab stick. The crab stick is slightly stirred into the porridge instead of cooking it in the porridge to maintain chewy texture of the crab stick.Overall the food here are delicious and the price is really reasonable as the portion is quite big. continue reading

Porridge Time seems to be full of people most of the time I passed by, and I decided to try it out a few days ago when I was in Paradigm Mall. I ordered the peanut and century egg porridge, together with some yau char kwai. The yau char kwai was not very fresh, hence it was a bit hard. It was also quite oily. As for the peanut and century egg porridge, it was quite nice. The porridge was silky smooth, with a handful of peanuts in it. The peanuts were cooked together in the porridge, and it was not overcooked, retaining its slightly crunchy texture. The century egg was added upon order, and it went very well with the porridge indeed. continue reading

Teng Chai porridge is always my favourite porridge in this restaurant. The porridge contained groundnuts, crab sticks, seaweed and squid strips. The groundnuts were boiled to softness. The crabstick was sweet and soft. The squid strips were chewy and salty. It also has some ginger strips to add an extra "spiciness" to it. The porridge was smooth and served in a claypot to preserve the heat. continue reading
