Spicy crabmeat pasta . the crabmeat were many and nice. the image of the food was look nice when the waiter serving this to me. the spaghetti was cooked until very soft. i like the taste of the pasta, abit sour and sweet.
red velvet. just like normal chocolate cake. i like the dessert here especially the cakes. usually i will order this as my dessert part.
i like the mineral water bottle design. looked special and nice.

Steak sandwich with arugula, caramelized onions & dijonnaise. This robust, medium-rare hunk of meat puts the chewy, thinly sliced and flavorless steak sandwiches elsewhere to shame
Even if it makes you late for your employer's daughter's wedding, do not leave without sampling the desserts. The macadamia cheesecake was as soft, smooth and creamy as heaven might allow. This could very well haunt our dreams for months to come.
The red velvet cake tasted as good as it looked (and it looked excellent to me).
Petit four fancy cakes. We sometimes shun desserts at display counters, fearing they'll come out a bit too dry or too chilled or too lacking in freshness. Plan B's ones are the opposite of that.

The menu is thoughtful and sufficiently extensive. Salads are a highlight here; the crispy duck with watercress, orange segments & maple syrup dressing should satiate light eaters with its zesty mix of crisp leaves and lean meat.
Soft-shell crab spaghetti tossed in butter sauce. Addictively creamy, with a hearty helping of crisp crab and a spicy kick from curry leaves & chili flakes. Most salads and pastas here cost around RM20 _ a fair deal, all things considered.
Fireroad Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) & Peter Lehmann Weighbridge Chardonnay (Australia), with a coffee shake in the background. Not only are the house wines here excellent, they cost just RM17++ per glass.

Another lovely pasta creation from Plan B. This is the Wild Mushroom Spaghetti. Although using simple ingredients, but the taste and flavors were worth coming back for more. The spaghetti have wild mushrooms and button mushrooms in it. The darker color wild mushroom was very juicy and the button mushrooms were firm. Some lemons were added and the acidity give the dish a tangy flavor. The spaghetti was lightly stir fried with herbs and olive oil. Nice and light meal.
The BIG Group has become so massive, its name is now an understatement. Its youngest offspring emerged extremely healthy from Publika's cocoon of cafes this week, twinned in both name & menu to Plan B in Bangsar Village.
Note that this branch could someday be christened Journal by Plan B, potentially offering discounts for journalists. That concept remains in its infancy, but this collection of typewriters at the storefront might be a harbinger of things to come.
Publika's Plan B is taking baby steps to move out of its Bangsar brother's shadow, serving several selections available only here at Solaris Dutamas, such as falafel with tomatoes, tabbouleh, pickled red cabbage & cucumber on chickpea spread in pita bread. Hearty & more than competently prepared; we imagine even the folks at Al-Amar might approve.
From the Middle East to Mother Russia: hot, wholesome borscht, brimming with cabbage, beetroot & barley, topped with sour cream & parsley. A bargain for RM10++; it's nearly impossible to sample this soup at a KL eatery, but to find one so fine seems like a miracle.
Asia is represented by lamb briyani, fragrant with spices but not fiery-spicy. We like it this way, though some might say it lacks the oomph of hardcore Indian cooking.
European euphoria: Slow-cooked ox tongue with hot English mustard on wholemeal bread, served with gherkin & chips. A sandwich well-suited to encapsulate what BIG outlets offer; many of us relish the range of recipes here, while others insist it's all overrated & derivative.
It's not a BIG meal without dessert. The peanut butter milk chocolate cookie could be better, since its spongy texture is a turnoff (that's not the way the cookie should crumble!), but the flourless chocolate cake should please patrons who prefer light, mousse-like sweets.
It's a small world after all: beverages from opposite ends of the earth _ New Zealand Fire Road Pinot Noir & Brazil Rio Verde Yellow Bourbon coffee.
We don't usually mention the drinks, but the milkshakes here deserve a special mention, because they are just awesome! At about 10 bucks a pop, it's not the cheapest milkshake around, but believe me when I say you are paying for quality. The picture above is the Oreo flavour, and below is the Butterscotch flavour. Their milkshakes are really thick and not icy, which makes them really tasty treats. Ask for a glass of water too though, because it's so thick you're still going to feel thirsty after a glass.
Honestly out of all the dishes we have tried at Plan b, this is our favourite. I'm a total sucker for all things buttery and creamy, and the sauce in this pasta tastes nearly exactly like butter prawns or crab that we eat at Chinese restaurants. Mixing it with soft shell crab is pure genius as the crispy texture and meatiness of the crab go perfectly with the pasta. But what's most unique about this is the slightly spicy tinge to the pasta, thanks to the chilli flakes inside. It's not common to find pastas that are actually spicy, but I think chefs should take note of how Plan b does this dish and start creating their own variations!
Moroccan Lamb Meatballs pasta (RM 22), in smoky eggplant & tomato sauce. On my first visit there I was feeling adventurous and went for this. I had no idea what in the world Moroccan lamb meatballs were supposed to taste like, so I thought it should be pretty interesting, and I was right! The meatballs had a very unique and distinct flavour, packed with lots of piquant spices. That meant the spaghetti also had a unique tomato flavour base, although I thought it was a bit plain with not enough sauce. Overall, not a bad dish to try.
The first time we went to Plan b, Wendy went straight for the Cheeseburger (RM 23). A simple burger, with beef patty sandwiched between lightly toasted buns together with some onion rings, cheese, and ketchup. A good combination that is hard to go wrong, we found the patty to be juicier and also cheesier than a lot of other joints, which was very good. The buns were done well, and the fries were also delightful. Yum!
