I have mentioned before usually before I perform, I try not to overload myself with food. Which is why when I did a gig at Pietro, a lovely Italian restaurant located at the ECM Libra building, I ordered the most basic meal: Spaghetti Aglio Olio.Even though it's basically just garlic, olive oil, parsley (and a leave of basil on top), chili flakes, it was quite tasty. I also liked how the pasta was perfectly al dente, which is even more important in such simple dish. The only negative though, as you can probably see from the photo, was that there was simply too much oil in there (look at the pool at the bottom). Otherwise it's a pretty decent pasta dish. continue reading

Pietro Ristorante Italiano located at ECM Libra Building has always been one of my favorite restaurant to visit with friends and family. As we are celebrating a birthday for a friend of mine, we proceed to order Quattro Formaggio pizza to share together with my bunch of friends. Quattro Formaggio pizza is a thin crust pizza and consist of a combination of many cheese in one pizza! Yeah, cheese lover, this pizza is for you! The pizza was perfect with some crispy crust around the edge. The cheese wasn't too much and it's just perfect! Everyone is falling in love with this pizza! continue reading

After a flurry of new Italian eateries stormed KL in 2009 & 2010, fewer have opened this year. Pietro is the latest entry to our city's spaghetti scene, but so far, it hasn't scaled the same heights as Il Lido, Garibaldi & Favola.Pietro is handsomely fitted, occupying two floors of the ECM Libra Building, with a hard-working service team. But its menu feels pedestrian, offering too few thrills to warrant repeat visits. Our meal began promisingly: warm, fluffy bread with a thick, savory olive dip. Roasted wild barramundi. A complaint: numerous items on Pietro's menu were unavailable. Even this was supposed to come with saffron broth & barley, but those were replaced with Mediterranean veggies & potatoes. A shame; this nice slab of fish would shine in a better recipe. Red & white Sangrias. Fairly cheap at about RM20 each, though less forgiving patrons might liken the wine in these beverages to vinegar. So what gives? Maybe we ordered the wrong items; maybe we should return in a month to let Pietro find its footing.Pietro could potentially be a worthwhile outlet, but if first impressions count, it's kinda like the blind date that starts well before becoming less exciting as the evening progresses. continue reading

The set lunch with spring chicken is great and super affordable. Threw a company lunch there and ordered mainly pizzas and pastas for everyone to share. Highlights were the penne arrabiata and the tiramisu. I've held several small-scale dinners here before and the restaurant, and chef have been brilliant. A glass of water never goes unfilled and staff are super attentive. But what I love most about Pietro is the sense of privacy you have when you dine, so close to where I work! continue reading

On a perfect evening where you are looking for a perfect dining place with several close friends for a couple of good wine and food; Pietro, Damansara Height. Pasta, nothing fancy where you could get it everywhere; not this one. Foie Gras Pasta, something absolutely new to me.The partners ordered and I reluctantly take a bite from my serving. There are something different. It is perfectly cooked and not too salty for my glass of wine. Loving the hit of cheese yet tasting the rich of foie gras. Yumz. We are still talking how delicious it was. Wonderful meal, a little pricey but aren't you worth it? continue reading
