Continuing from the previous post here are the rest of the sweet treats available at Pavilions Lounge, Sheraton KL as part of their "Childhood Memories" themed English afternoon tea. “Gasing” Mini CornettosThese cute mini cornettos were filled with coffee syrup and cream. The portions are small enough to handle as the cream can get quite rich.Assorted MacaronsThese treats went down very well with the other half, and I adore the perfectly baked shells.“Plaster Sin” Fruity JelloBeautifully presented in Champagne flutes, the Fruity Jello was my favourite sweet treat of the day. The jello has a tinge of citrus and floral scent and I couldn’t get enough of the bits of nata de coco. Yum.“Teng Teng” Brownies Marshmallow BarChocoholics will love these delightful, nutty, rich brownies. I had to skip it because Chocolate is my nemesis (I get sore throat with just a little bit).“Konda Kundi” Assorted Chocolate LollipopsHad to skip these as well but hiding underneath the chocolate coat you’ll find a ball of lovely choux pastry and wait for it….. more chocolate oozing out in the centre. Fresh Fruits shootersIf you prefer natural sugar, these would be perfect to wash down all that baked goods. Once again, very beautifully presented.World’s Finest TeaAnd the best part about the afternoon tea is the bottomless TWG tea, and you can go for any flavour that tickles your fancy. But if you like to spice things up, you can be like my a other half and opt for “Danish Tea”(haha) – Carlsberg draft priced at RM24++ per glass. With 2 glasses, you will even get one free at Happy Hours starting from 5-9pm. For the ladies, you can also enjoy their unique sparkling wine with ice pop that comes with three flavours: Strawberry, Mixed Berries or Passion fruit for RM36++ per glass (kicking myself for not going for that now actually). Nevermind, this promotion goes for the whole September!The “Childhood Memories” themed English afternoon tea is priced reasonably at RM40++ per person, and it’s available Monday to Friday, 2 to 6pm. Sheraton Imperial's lounge is perfectly peaceful during the day, but don't come here after 9pm, since that's when a raucous live band makes conversation impossible. Honey-glazed chicken wings stuffed with sticky rice & mushrooms. Nicely done; the meat would have been tender and juicy enough on its own, but the rice made it texturally interesting, while the earthy mushrooms boosted the flavor a few notches. Duck & sweet potato curry puffs. More stuffing and less crust might improve this (even though the filling tasted bland and not as unique as it sounded). The plus point is that these seemed healthier and less greasy than regular curry puffs. Minced prawn & scallop skewers. A chunky, meaty treat of fresh-tasting seafood. Accompanied by 'wasabi lotion' that packed a powerful punch. During happy hours, it's buy one, free one for glasses of the house wine. Imperial Martini & Lychee On A Stick (bombay sapphire, lychee, wild strawberries).
