Pandan Lake Seafood Village (Closed)

This fried fish scale is what I find Pandan Lake Seafood Village special.First they will serve the steamed river fish and remove the big (since it was a big fish) fish scales and proceed to the kitchen for a deep-fried and topped with some sweet and sour saice on top with chili padi. It was soo crispy and crunchy! Never expect to eat fish scales in deep-fried style and yet it tastes like fried- chicken skin. Nice.

Aside of steamed river fish in Fook Chew style, they have grilled river fish too to allow you to enjoy the freshness of the fish. Fried fish may seems as a normal dish but the skill in there is beyond words. The chef needs to control the oil and gas level to make sure a big river fish is well-done cooked before served. It was not salty but you can taste the tender and sweetness from a fresh grilled river fish.

Steamed river fish in soy sauce in Fook Chew style is one of the must order food in Pandan Lake Seafood Village. Previously this restaurant was known Six Happiness ( liu fu) but currently this Wong Xin. They serve chinese cuisine and food choices ranged from dim sum to steamed fish. A above average chinese restaurant I would say. I am not sure if this is white sultan fish but this river fish was big and so fresh. Meat was tender and you will not get the 'mud' river smell when you eat.

Kerabu mango here stir-fried with peanut, green and red chili padi, onions and beancurd and probably some lemon drops. Order this for appetizer, it was really appetizing. I love how chili padi mixed with the sourness of mango. Portion served was kind of average to big. Not too bad for a family dish. Adult or kids will enjoy this together so there is no range for this plate of food. Good enough.

红烧鱼鳔 Braised Fish Baldder was well braised with secret sauce and several pieces of shiitake mushrooms. This is a famous dish among chinese customers and a must order to ladies! It contains a lot of collagen to keep you a healthy skin. Anyway taste wise it is not salty yet sweet, just nice to taste the fish baldder and the texture of the fish baldder was chewy and nice. Recommended dish.
