Pak Hailam Kopitiam was founded by the Wong family. In recent years, the second generation of Pak Hailam have ventured into the ‘Kopitiam’ franchise businesses. They have successfully opened total of nine outlets, eight located in Klang Valley and one outlet in Seremban. I have visited Pak Hailam Kopitiam, Serdang outlet and I was quite surprised to see sizzling hot plate food items was in their menu. It comes with three choices and I have ordered for the Hot Plate Grilled Mushroom Chicken Rice. The other two choices are Hot Plate Grilled Black Pepper Chicken Rice and Hot Plate Grilled Hainanese Chicken Rice.The Hot Plate Grilled Mushroom Chicken Rice was sizzling all the way from the kitchen with heavy smokes. It was served with grilled chicken chop flooded with mushroom sauce and adorned with few slices of button mushrooms; a portion of coleslaw with slices of cucumber and tomato; and white rice.The Grilled Chicken chop was well marinated and nicely grilled. It was delicious, tender and juicy. However, the chicken chop served was relatively a small piece. The creamy mushroom sauce with button mushrooms was tasty but slightly salty. It was okay to savor with white rice. The coleslaw was freshly prepared and taste good with crunchy shredded cabbage and mayonnaise sauce. continue reading
