Spicy Chicken Goodness

A while ago we had a Nando's party just for a fun afternoon get together. Now I don't generally go to Fast Food chain but Nando's is definitely ok in my books for their peri peri sauce and grilled chicken. During the party the food came out platter style with mixed level of spiciness to suit everyone's taste. Grilled Chicken WingsFor starters we had some grilled chicken wings to share.  Grilled Chicken Wings
For starters we had some grilled chicken wings to share. As Nando's standards goes, this was the perfect start. Wings are my weakness so needless to say, I enjoyed this very much.

For something a little different, the kebabs come with colourful vegetables and had complementing flavours. Loved it.

 The best thing about Nando's is their wide range of good sidelines. My favourite is this spinach dish. It was cooked just right, soft but not mushy, simple flavours. Very good to pair with the spicy chicken

 Here comes more chicken! As spiciness goes, I always go for the extra hot with extra hot sauce. Competitive nature? Maybe, but I just love chili! Go hard or go home right? The chicken was tender, juicy, full of flavours. Both Thumbs up!

Where does one go when he or she craves for grilled chicken? Nando’s of course! Recently, Nando’s has introduced 3 new side dishes; namely sweet potato, spinach and mucho peas.  As you can see from the picture above, I chose ¼ grilled chicken to go with sweet potato, Mediterranean rice and Peri chips. The sweet potatoes were cut into small chunks and cooked with cinnamon, turmeric and the special Peri-peri sauce. Undeniably, I did not like this side dish due to its taste. It tasted sourish with mild spiciness and I had no idea what is the source of sourness. The combination of these 2 tastes is weird. As for the rice, it had green peas, onions and carrots in it, thus it’s fragrant and nice to be eaten with the Peri chips that were coated with salt and chili powder. In addition to that, I requested for the chicken to be in Lemon & Herb flavour. This is because I can’t take spicy food and I get to enjoy the chicken in its most original form. The chicken was grilled to perfection with the right “crispiness” for the skin and juicy meat on the inside.
