Mikan Japanese Cuisine & Bistro is located directly opposite Tune Hotel located on Jalan Sultan Ismail, this restaurant is definitely very easy to spot from the road.I had Tai Soup which is a soup is a sweet soup cooked with the snapper inside. The Tai Soup is well made and with the clear noodles to accompany with it is indeed special. The clear noodles are alike udon but it is also slightly like glass noodles. The texture of the glass noodles are smooth and the snapper is fresh and we can taste the sweetness of the soup which is from the snapper.

Maju Junction might be an unlikely location for an impressive Japanese restaurant, but that's what Mikan turned out to be. A mouthwatering sushi platter of salmon belly, hamachi & ikura. Thanks to the generous slices of indisputably fresh fish and luscious roe, this was every bit as satisfying as sushi at any upmarket outlet in KL. Tuna sashimi tempura roll with miso sauce. Creamy, melt-in-the-mouth succulence. Foie gras with king mushrooms in teriyaki sauce. A top-notch treat; three thick, well-prepared slices of goose liver that partnered perfectly with earthy mushrooms and a pleasantly sweet sauce. A bargain for RM38+. Angus beef tataki with citrus black pepper sauce. Bloody good; tender and meaty. A tip of the hat is owed to the friendly, accommodating service team. We'll be back.

Reaching Mikan Japanese Restaurant during dinner time, I found the Japanese themed restaurant to be really comforable with lots of dining space. The first dish that arrived in front of me was the Salmon Skin Salad. I was rather intrigued with this appetizer as I was told to ensure the skin gets crispy some preparations had to be done and left overnight. It tasted really good especially with the salad sauce. The texture of this dish was akin to eating fish crackers, except it was way lighter, and crispier, breaking to the touch.
