Love the fried crispy tofu! Then there is lobak. Just looking at the deep brown fried colours makes it so mouthwatering. Just love fried food, minus the guilt. ;P.Yes, the lobak taste good, Very flavoured and the fried prawn cake is good too. Upon entering the mouth, the Kruk Kruk sound is just satisfactory. This is our side orders. There are still a plenty side dishes available and couldn't wait for the next visit!

The fried Koay teow in Mee Jawa is also another dish to choose from. The texture of the koay teow is nice and fried in high heat, its very delicious with enough presence of bean sprout and big prawns which makes the taste not bland at all. A bulls eye egg on top is nice to have too. Clean presentation and not salty. Great for lunch and a good place to dine as there is a lot of variety of food to choose from.

Yes, not going to "Mee jawa" without trying its speciality mee jawa on the menu. The taste is good, but the side vegetable besides the noodle could have a bit more; how greedy. We choose to order another dish after that. What a big eater we are. Condiments are well standard, noodle is good, at least no "yellow noodle" smell. The sauce is thick and creamy, overall a 8/10.

Mee Jawa in Solaris is a comfy place with nice decorations of rattan and in brown wooden settings. Cozy and a nice hang out place. Will be a little full of customer during peak hour so do go earlier. The fried rice is nice and aromatic, comes with crispy and deep fried chicken; papadam and sambal to add to taste. Some crunchy anchovies too. I love the fried rice, it has a lot of vege and egg and is tasty.

The Mee Jawa range of restaurants are famous for...well.. it's Mee Jawa, of course! It's their signature dish, and available in 2 version : original and fried. I love both equally. The original Mee Jawa has the yummiest, thickest most addictive sauce ever with just the right dose of chilli sambal as well as delicious cuttlefish, boiled egg, tofu and such. The fried one comes with the same ingredient and I totally love the way it's fried. So fragrant! A bit like Mee Mamak but way better. They hav

Well, of course you need to try its famous Mee Jawa while you’re here. The big plate holds several condiments that come with the dish – cuttlefish sambal, fried shallots, hard-boiled egg and sliced tauhu. With the addition of the vegetables, it gives a refreshing aftertaste, which is light to the palate rather than heavy fishy taste.

Of course, you have got to try Assam Laksa if you're tasting Penang delights. The Assam Laksa here is more to the sourish side where it whets up appetite for more. Slurp down the chewy laksa noodles with the substantial sizeable mackerel pieces where you can actually taste and bite the firm fish. It contains a mild spiciness to the dish but yet still appetising to the palate.

Mee Jawa specialises in quite a number of noodles dishes. The Prawn Mee is worth the try as well. Even though the soup looks a little ‘clean’, it actually carries enough oomph of prawn flavoured goodness to the noodles. The generous toppings of fresh fried shallots and meat slices heighten up the experience. The prawns here are different where they are blanched in hot oil to firm up the meat. It's not too spicy yet emits a natural sweetness of prawns in it.

Mee Jawa has a great interior. It is tastefully decorated with bamboo-like accessories. Even the tables and chairs bring nostalgic feelings to diners. You would expect the place to serve all noodles dishes right? Surprisingly, Mee Jawa caters to ‘rice buckets’ too. Try the Assam Pedas Fish with Rice. It truly lived up to its name where it’s full packed with assam goodness! The thick gravy makes a good accompaniment to the white rice. Meanwhile, the springy stingray pieces add the texture to the palate with other vegetables such as lady fingers and pineapples.
