It is quite difficult to see from outside. My friend googled about this place as she is crazy over steaks and lambs in sophisticated ambience. Finally we had time to come today. There are not many people here today. The waitress is very friendly and was ready to recommend the food to us.

The food here is quite pricey as people have to pay for the taste and sophistication and elegance.

I ordered the mussels with tomato salsa sauce on top. It was quite fresh.

Next was the Rib Eye done medium rare with red wine, baked potatoes and vegetables. The rib eye is quite delicious and fresh and succulent and juicy. Now I know why this place is famous for steak.

The Aussice Chilled Black Angus was spectacular. The meat here is very tender and juicy, proof that the meat is well marinated and cooked very well.

The grilled vegetables of chick peas, cherry tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflowers were quite tasty.

We ordered the Cape Dreams red wine which was a little fruity and very strong. Red wine with steak is a good pairing.

One of Damansara Perdana's loveliest outlets. Rather quiet in the evenings. There's a soothing, feel-right-at-home look here. The warm service helps too. Food choices run the gamut from cheap pies to costly Kobe beef. On a crazy whim, we checked out both ends of the spectrum. The chicken pie was fairly satisfying. Filled with juicy meat and veggies. The Kobe beef was super-tender and tasted wondrously fatty. But we'll stick to regular beef next time; this has to be a once-in-a-blue-moon splurge

One of the few relatively casual places you can find a good steak, and they even serve Black Angus and wagyu. Black Angus is priced at RM40 per 100g, and your cut depends on what they have available. If you ask me, it's the cheapest places to get a proper steak done perfectly. Our medium-rare came exactly medium-rare, which so far only the best restaurants have been able to deliver properly. The side dishes were also done very well.

What we enjoyed most about Black Angus is the smokey char-grilled quality and the tenderness from the fat marblings.

Despite not charging corkage, their service is exemplary and they provide proper glass wares for your wine. Service is good enough that I even tipped on top of the service tax which they had already billed me for.

The place isn't very big but customers kept coming in especially dinner time around 7.30pm. This is a good place for couples to have their dinner. I can feel romantic atmosphere in there when I step inside, due to those lighting all around the place.

Hot Honey Lemon-RM6.50

I always order honey lemon after a long day of work and play. What special about this that I have to mention here Look at the photo above. Yes I ordered honey lemon not English Tea. It came out to be tea in a pot with a small jar of honey and lemon juice each. You will have to make your own honey lemon. This is fun because I can always mix out with different taste.

Pan-fried Sliced Fresh Tuna served with lemon vinaigrette salad- RM 24.00

It taste not bad but too much black pepper on the tuna. Besides, the potion look a bit small even for me.

Grilled Chicken with saute vegetables and honey mustard-RM19.00

It is said to be one of the famous dish in this restaurant. You can choose either honey mustard or mushrooms sauce but honey mustard is said to be the special one. Still the potion is very, very small.

Located on the upper floor of Metropolitan Square, Maria's Cafe exudes a really homely environment and ambience, with soft lighting and classy decor. With a tagline of "The Best of Traditional Western Cuisine", you know you're in for some good food here.

I wasn't really a fan of oysters and mussels, being more of a meat lover but these oysters were really fresh without any hint of fishiness odour, plus they were really huge.

After some healthy soups and delicious Caesar Salads, our next dish was Maria's Cafe's signature steaks. We were served with the Australian Wagyu 7 beef steaks, and also the Australian Chilled Black Angus steak. Naturally the Wagyu 7 steak tasted really good, being tender and very nice texture. At RM95/100gm for a wagyu 7 steak, I was informed the price was pretty reasonable for the quality of the meat. Check them out below.

Desserts were served at the end, sweet tempting cakes which melted in our mouths. The Tiramisu came in a rather huge cup while the Moist Chocolate Cake was warm with some ice-cream served by its side.

Needless to say, by the end of the night, we were literally filled to the brim with good, delicious food from Maria's kitchen. All the food served were good, all of which were meticulously prepared fresh from the kitchen.

So if you are around Damansara Perdana area looking for some really good steaks, or any western food for that matter, do drop by Maria's Cafe over in Metropolitan Square. If you're lucky, you may even have Mary serving you your dishes! Anyway that's beside the point, go for the good food.
