Onde-onde, also known as buah melaka, is one of my favourite Malay kuih. I was passing by Kampung Kerinchi, and saw a kuih stall with a constant stream of customers. Intrigued, I decided to pay them a visit. The buah melaka looked pretty fresh, so I ordered two sets. It comes in a cone made out of banana leaves. Each cone contained five tiny but utmostly delicious pieces of morsels. The green skin is chewy and soft, while the filling of gula melaka was sweet. Some grated coconut covers the green skin. Every mouthful was rewarded with a burst of sweetness. Definitely recommended.
