Cendol. Since it was Nyonya resetaurant, we ordered the cendol for trying. Little Heritage's version came with cendol and kidney bean. The kidney bean was big and it added further sweetness to the cendol. The cendol was smooth and soft. The portion was slightly small though. It has the right amount of ice. Overall, the dessert was not too sweet, just nice for my liking.

Kiam Chye arc. My father is a typical Chinese where he would always prefer a bowl soup to go with his dinner. No exception when he dined at Nyonya restaurant. He ordered this Kiam Chye Arc which is duck meat salted vegetable soup. The soup consisted duck meat, onion, carrot and salted vegetables. The soup was quite salty due to the salted vegetables. My dad enjoyed it.

Sago Gula Melaka. At first, I did not plan to order dessert, but after eating the dinner, I was tempted to order it, and indeed I ordered a bowl of sago gula melaka to try. The sago was all dispersed out, not like stuck together in one clum. The santan was not too heavy. I love the gula melaka which was not extremely sweet, just nice for a bowl of dessert. I enjoyed it very much.

Saffron Bawal hitam. We were thinking which type of fish to order and at last we settled with this deep fried version - saffron bawal hitam. The bawal fish was being deep fried, it was crispy and it was meaty too. It does not have the fishy taste. The fish also came with a plate of chilli dipping sauce that consisted of onions, red chilli and green chilli. It was tangy and spicy.

Jiew Hu Char. One of my favourite food in a Nyonya restaurant is the jiew hu char as I am a fan of it. Since this was my first time visit to Little Heritage House, I ordered it. The jiew hu char consisted mushrooms, sengkuang and carrot slices. It has a strong taste of the "yao yu si" and with a chewy texture too. Overall, it was not too salty, but not bland as well. Just the right taste.

Nyonya Chicken Rendang. We were thinking which type of chicken to order and ended up we chose the nyonya chicken rendang. The rendang was thick and it has some sort of tanginess it it, not the typical rendang taste. My family quite like the taste of it. The chicken was soft and had absorbed the rendang taste. It was not spicy, suitable for people that could not take spicy.

Little Heritage House calls itself a "Straits Chinese kitchen," serving traditional Nyonya favorites in a setting that seethes with culture-rich heirlooms from simpler times. The menu's short & sweet, with items available a la carte or in wallet-friendly sets. Salted veggie duck soup (RM6+), acceptable but not admirable. Malaccans do this best!

Our highest recommendation, however, goes to the excellent bubur pulut hitam (RM6+), sumptuous with black glutinous rice & mata kucing fruits.

Barley & chrysanthemum beverages, steaming hot & fairly fragrant.
